The only thing that I really dislike about this device is the low memory. It comes with 256mb of ram which is really low if you plan run apps from the store. Such a disappointment. Verdict: not worth the price.

The LG G2, which is an upcoming smartphone, apparently does 24 bit 192000 KHz audio. That's pretty great.

He should as there is absolutely no audible difference between FLAC and WAV and ALAC and AIFF. They contain the exact same data, hence a directly ripped WAV and a FLAC transcoded to WAV are 100% identical. Lossless is Lossless. Plus FLAC isn't decoded in real time they are decoded to PCM audio and placed in a buffer therefore your DAC can't tell the difference. WAV is also a pain as they don't contain the means to tag.

I did a blind test between 320kbps and 1411kbps on my laptop and could tell a difference, comparing identical songs directly in each format. But granted, ordinarily I'd say 320kbps is fine for a portable player and most headphones.

I like the way of packing in which walkman F series are sold in the US. What a nice package!! In japan,this series are sold only packing in the box made from thin cardboard. It was so boring.

I do not consider myself audiophile, but I know deep these gadgets, because 7 years ago I sell these types of items over the Internet. I also sell and use high-end cell phones, and I think specifically the Galaxy S4 sounds very ugly. Probably has the Wolfson DAC more refined, but I think that is very poorly implemented.

Before u compare it with I pod u have to try it it sounds way better than any ios device other than alac it plays every thing. Believe me I have galaxy s4 and it sounds really bad but this f series is an audiophile grade devise. I agree it is not for every one but if u care about the sound quality this thing is for u.

it's not al that great , you can only do music and video and pictures. there's no camera on this thing witch make the iPod touch a better choice , the audio sound quality can be better but yeah , ios is still a better os then android

Omg...thats good to know. I was going to buy the 64GB for $400 after all the hype about it in Head-Fi. Instead decided to buy the new iPod Touch 5G 64GB brand new for $250 on craigslist. I installed the equalizer app from Audioforge Labs and it really took the sound of the iPod to another level.

I think your opinion of the OS is colored by the fact that you mainly use iOS in your day to day listening and computing. If you take some time to get used to Android I think you'll find it less annoying than you currently seem to :).

The interface of this device, as well as also the the Cowon Z2, are truly horrendous. For sound, there is nothing on the market with Android that sounds good. Even the very expensive iBasso DX100, which has been a real failure in terms of sales. Sony has launched electronic crap lately, very overvalued, according to a market which is unfortunately tending to extinction, the MP3 players. I guess, without having tested, Fiio X3 today could be the most promising player at an affordable price.
