I use low beam at cities and high beam at highways. In highways if a car comes on opposite side, I switch to low beam till that car crosses me. But sad truth is that opposite car never switch to low beam.

Traffic polices should take necessary steps to reduce these blunder activity by both drivers and bike riders. Like around 10 years before, I have seen traffic police taking actions on high beam light using cars and bikes. But nowadays they seems do not care about that!

Great one! This subject is applicable for two wheelers too.. modern day scooters have LED headlights which the riders don't realise it's in high beam. Its intensity hugely disturbs oncoming vehicles 🥺🥺🥺

Excellent content Usually in Chennai OMR in evening times past 6 PM most two wheeler usually bend their side view mirrors in order to avoid the high beam from other bike and cars. The important thing is they will use high beam in heavy traffic. i don't understand why they need it. Car manufacturers should make high beam to low beam if vehicle is under a speed of 60 KMpH, such kind of feature will be very helpful.

I live in Ooty, which is flooded with tourists most of the time. None of them use the low beam. Even while manoeuvring inside the small town, where there are street lights, lights from shops present on both sides of the road, by default everyone keeps the beam high. It's very annoying and difficult most of the times to drive at night. I hope atleast now after watching these videos, they bring in a discipline while driving. Thanks for talking about it, indeed this is very important and must be followed as a rule.

Thanks for sharing this Video.... It's 100% true ... Safety is only achievable only if we practice... And it's should start from Me... Very good narration on the highbeam Blindness... High intense light cause eye pupils to contract (to minimize light going inside) and when suddenly we cross.. it's creat a temporary blindness ( time to dilate pupils for drakness)... First of all, great video and much-needed awareness, because out of 10 vehicles 9 using high beam only (in the demo also it is proved)... Honestly, I'm not a high beam lover and in the below scenarios we are automatically switched to High beam, 1. New two-wheelers headlamp is much brighter by default it is not an accessory upgrade and most of the time they won't switch to low beam 2. Even we switch to low beam when there is a vehicle comes in the opposite direction, the opposite vehicle driver won't dim the light (they may be lazy or they using upgraded bulb) 3. If any vehicle is in going before our vehicle if that person keeps ON High Beam, then the opposite person won't switch to low beam even we are in the Low beam 4. I'm using the Swift 2016 model and the default headlamp is not enough to drive especially in Two ways 5. Mostly I felt, Sedan and Hatchback vehicles are used high beams comparatively with SUV/Heavy vehicles

Most of the time I use only low beam and challenge is mostly on Highway where lane markers are faded or doesn't exist and unfortunately there are roads with no plants grown on median. In such scenario either side commuters uses high beam and it makes no sense. When there's nothing to reflect the light, it will be hard to judge the road. If you need good example, Tirunelveli - Madurai or Tuticorin - Madurai. Fortunately the road work is happening now and hope it will be all set soon.

Very good video. Govt should conduct some practical tests or simulation tests like foreign countries while issuing driving licence. Also govt should ban white led lights. It is really painful during night driving. Now a days, even a low car is coming with white LED lights. I personally tested white light. It is not that good when compared to normal halogen lights.

Namma responsive headlight use pannalum opposite la varavanga erupanga nu sola mudiyathu.... They need to change.. 1.Especially 2 round halogen headlights in grill 2.LED have very high intensity ... Both will give high brightness but for us it's very dangerous.......

நான் 5 வருடமாக OEM 55 Bulb தான் உபயோகப்படுத்தினேன்.. சமீபமாக தான் 90 watts Upgrade செய்தேன். 3 மாதம் முன்பு எதிரில் வரும் தொடர்ச்சியான Upgraded & LED High Beam வண்டிகளால் குடும்ப சகிதம் பெரிய விபத்தில் மாட்டியிருப்பேன். நூலிழையால் தான் தப்பித்தோம். அன்று தான் உணர்ந்தேன் நான் மட்டும் நல்லவனாக இருந்து பிரியோஜனம் இல்லை என்று. இதற்காக நான் இன்றுவரை Guilty யாக தான் நினைக்கிறேன். Regarding dimming, on highways that don't have a shadowed median, it always is safer for the opposite driver if we dim the lights when the road we are driving curves towards the left.

Good information. Thank you. I also reduce the light to low beam (not dipper, just half light) when using indicator to turn right or left. This allows the vehicle from other side to understand that I am expected to turn. I have seen vehicles use high beam and use turn indicator. How on earth will the opposite side vehicles be able to see their turn indicator!

Aana edhirla varavanuku namma kashtam puriyalaye, namma light pottu kaatna kuda full high beam la varanunga koraikave maatranunga even bikes and mopeds kuda adhedha panranga. Sir, very good content. One request please post driving, road manners series from time to time.. One common thing we could see nowadays esp. in Chennai is when people take right from a street, they don't make a proper full turn to the right, but turn to the right immediately causing inconvenience to pedestrians and opposite side vehicles on the road, this seems to be a recent phenomenon which is now followed by most of the people, sadly. Please touch upon it in any of your videos, as this will reach more people and may change at least few of them. Thank you
