I would definitely understand the appeal with a larger group of people, but alone? It seems kind of awkward. That being said... Where could you find these restaurants? Asking for a friend.

The high end places always isolate the beef so you can take in the full flavor. But usually after 1 or 2 rounds of beef only they add in all the veggies.

This is very high end, it is about the experience. I make a big slkillet and add the beef cabbage, onion white and green, noodles, tofu enough for 3 or 4 people. My sauce is soya sauce beer or sake or both.
