you don't actually use auto tune to control volume, it's just for pitch. It's the same as when you lower the volume of the mics that the background singers use in live performances. Even if they hit the craziest notes, they aren't louder than the lead singer (in most cases). In the studio, it's called compression when the software makes the volumes the same, but it doesn't alter the vocals.

After all these cimorelli clips I tried to find some good content of these people singing live and I found an older video called “Lisa Cimorelli vs Ariana Grande: High Notes Battle (B4 - Bb5) (HD)” and a more recent one called “Lisa Cimorelli Vocal Range: Bb2-C6-C#7(Eb7)”. She’s the best singer of them all from what I’ve seen so maybe that would be fun. At least you may get a laugh out of it if it’s awful 😭
