The only slight criticism I could come up with is that the flaps holding the foam should be grated to maximize water flow.

I personally no longer use HOB filters because of many of the historical issues ( non-brand specific). The arrangement of my tanks currently has no space to utilize them. I am, however, impressed with the upgrades that have been designed into these. I will be watching for consumer feedback on real-world experiences. It is nice to see that a company has listened to users' frustrations and worked on evolving without only profit as a goal.

The motor/priming is my biggest gripe. With all the improvements I'll probably try out the new one the next time I need a non-specific filter, but I'm staying away from the older ones.

I would love to see the actual waterflow path through the media. By having the chemical and biological media at the same level to each other, I don't believe all the water flows through all the media. I'm an aquaclear fan since before it was sold to Fluval and I'll be keeping my old style ones.

I was a bit disappointed that the tanks in the background of this video wasn't utilizing the filters being featured. Hopefully that isn't because other filter configuration models may be more effective. Oops, to marketing.

@@andicarson1339 The left tank is a closed system with a built-in intake for the included canister filter. Marketing aside, Fluval sells a varied assortment of filters, so there's no need for them to overstate their newly improved AC series at the expense of their tried-and-true selections. Fluval isn't an upstart needing to prove their worth.

@wyzemann I wasn't stating that Fluval had to prove anything. I have been using Fluval products for many years and will continue. If I didn't believe Fluval had good products, I wouldn't be subscribed to receive these posts in my feed. My opinion stands that it seems odd that there wouldn't be a system showing the featured product in action. I'm hoping that was an innocent oversight. I still have not seen this line in action, so there is no way for me to value it, other than my past 40+ years of keeping multiple aquariums personally, knowledge of Fluval as a company, and the information presented here. I still feel the marketing department should have shown the product in use.

Issue i have is some of the smaller filters wont fit some of my tanks of the sized they are rated for.

I understand having motor outside for HOB looks good but to reduce the noice and priming issues I personally feel motor should be inside tank.

Hi there! The AC110 currently only features some (but not all) AC Series upgrades, as a result of existing inventory levels. The remaining upgrades will be implemented at a later date!
