Protein is a very important part of the human diet, but you don't need to eat as much as you may think. Overestimating your protein needs can lead to all kinds of health issues like heart disease, leaky gut, acid reflux, chronic kidney disease, liver disease, arthritis, anxiety & depression, cancer, and many other issues.
In this video I explain how excessive protein consumption can lead to these issues, how much protein you actually need, and how much carbs, fat, and protein you should be eating.

I started bodybuilding 18 years ago. Back then I always heard the more protein the more muscle I would gain. That argument never made sense to me because most of muscle is actually water, so I decided yo test on myself if that was actually true. I did period ls of 6 months with different intake of it, first 6 months I only consumed 50g , next 6 months 100g then 150g and up to 200. I did not notice a decrease nor increase in muscle size when I was low protein nor when I was on a high protein. Then I went back to only 50 grams and stayed there for a year trying to gain muscle. Well, a year later, not only held onto all my muscle mass, but I was 10lbs bigger than before. Muscle gain usually comes from proper training, food sleep, staying hidrated and consuming alkaline nutrients. Must people I see at the gym do not with enough intensity. So a higher protein diet will not make you gain muscle faster magically.

All I know is, I’ve been training for 15 years. I trained hard and ate very clean the first few years but didn’t get enough protein to see gains. I was lean but I wanted a curvy figure. It wasn’t until I upped my protein before I saw extreme body recomposition. My entire body type has changed and I attribute that to protein. Not sorry.

Hi. Do you recommend strictly raw food diet when detoxing/cleanings then adding some cooked food back in slowly?
@TribeByNoire
@TribeByNoire 3 ай бұрын
Having a raw diet more geared towards detoxing should be mostly made up of fruits, tender greens/herbs & spice teas. You may want to do that for roughly 8-12 weeks and then gradually add in some cooked foods in the form of soups and stews.

Bro, your understanding of protein seems very lacking. There are no studies that show any credible evidence that there is an upper limit to the amount of protein anyone should be consuming, but there are numerous studies showing benefits to increasing your protein intake. SOME of your talk about nutrients and minerals was on point, but your “woman example” saying that if she got 900 calories from protein she’d deficient in her energy balance or nutrients was wildly off base. That would be dependent on what type of protein she was eating and how much fat or carbs she was also consuming.

Never have I heard it recommended anywhere to eat 1 g of protein per pound of body weight unless you are already at your ideal weight. So I think your star is misleading. I have heard you eat one gram per pound of either lean body mass or ideal bodyweight. Secondly, there is potassium / magnesium present in protein foods. For example; lamb my favorite food has both! Eat how you like form your own opinions, get your blood work done.
