For the creamy garlic pasta you can also use chickpea flour for the roux to make it even more high protein!

@@CheapLazyVegan You have to cook it of well as you would do with normal roux so from my experience no. But probably if you have a not-so-great chickpea flour with a stron |raw pulses" smell you would have to cook the sauce for a little longer!

My favorite is roasting red peppers and tomatoes then blending with either soft tofu or some sort of bean. It makes it really creamy and high protein! The peppers also add a natural sweetness

You are like me with your sauces. I love making high-protein sauces. You can make sauces with just about anything. If you use tofu, silken or soft is best. One of my favorite sauces takes a can of beans (black, butter or great northern are best), a jar of salsa, some nutritional yeast, and whatever else I feel like adding (like spices or sesame or hemp, etc). My husband loves it when I make a sauce using tofu, ketchup, mustard, & Italian dressing.

These recipes look really good but my husband doesn't like nutritional yeast. Is there a way to create a creamy pasta with unami type flavour without it.
@blaket.96902 жыл бұрын
Yes, Miso! I love Miso Paste, adds even more flavor imo. I'd go for a yellow or white one for these recipes, the colors fit better and they're milder. In case you've never used it - it's very salty, so be careful with the dosage. You could add it right in or after the heat is already turned off, to keep the healthy fermentation properties (could be hard though, you might have to mix it with a splash of water, then add that paste, depending on the consistency of what you're adding the Miso in.). I add Miso Paste to every cheesy/creamy sauce and it really takes the flavors to another Level. (:

Durum wheat (the type uses for pasta) is naturally about 16% protien. High protein meal done.

About the same range as buckwheat as well.

100g of EXdiet pasta = 23g of protein. 100g of regular wheat spaghetti = 12.9g of protein .I see a difference.

Wheat is just as high in protein as buckwheat, quinoa and oats FYI. I'm not sure why you think they are higher in protein. I just double checked this on USDA.
@CheapLazyVegan2 жыл бұрын
I didn't say anything about wheat vs buckwheat. I said this pasta/noodle brand is higher protein than other pastas. 100g of regular spaghetti is around 12.9g of protein, and the EXdiet brand is 23g of protein for the same weight and similar calories.
@phillippinter75182 жыл бұрын
@@CheapLazyVegan hmm maybe there's a labeling error. One time I saw these regular corn tortillas made of 100% corn masa (the normal ingredient) labeled with the fraction of the calories for the same weight.
@phillippinter75182 жыл бұрын
@@CheapLazyVegan oh and also cooking oil sprays labeled as zero calories at stores. People have actually had these tested. They are just regular cooking oils. 880ish calories per 100g. Many condiments that are not low in calories are labeled like this as well. If people lie about calories to make money I wouldn't be surprised about protien either.
