I wouldn't say it's "toxic" its just that age old argument of "who cares", "why is this news", "if I came out as a straight Christian would i be on the news", "they're trying to push the LGBT agenda". Pff, idk. All most news is about now is Trump, climate change and COVID, so its nice to get something positive. I don't think coming out as bisexual is anymore "news worthy" than any other sexuality or religion or any kinda of "coming out", but it takes more courage to come out as LGBT in a society that STILL has extremely judgemental and prejudiced people in it, than to come out as a straight Christian in society still widely governed by conservative values where Christianity isn't as popular as it used to be

It takes a lot to admit who you are to YOURSELF, let alone to a whole crowd of your peers. As a Bisexual Woman who came out a while ago, I am proud of him as a fellow "Family" member, but also since I am a Mom, I feel for him from that perspective as well. I hope he has a supportive friend and family base, since as a Bisexual Black Male, he's going to face a lot of hardship, not the least of which is Bisexual erasure. Best of luck to him.

The kid seems like a good kid but my problem is with American media. Why in the world would this get him on a mega national platform like a morning show? And then people wonder why black people and many others think that there is a manipulative lgbt agenda- specifically for black males. This is ridiculous. The black 17 yr old male who starts a successful business wouldnt be on here with Gayle and the like.

@@Peace2humankind there’s no “agenda”. Many people apart of the LGBT have been casted out by society, shamed, condemned, kicked out of households and have even committed suicide just to get away from the hurt of family not wanting anything to do with you anymore. That has went on for hundreds of years, even today. Something as simple as this man coming out as bisexual can bring hope into many young teens, kids and even adults that have to hide who they are because of the way society portrays them. There is no “agenda” it’s just now people are starting to be more accepting, and with that acceptance comes more LGBT from the closets they were forced to hide in.

Don’t say black people as if we’re a monolith we have our individual beliefs and as a black teen I feel like being valedictorian and having the courage to come out are great accomplishments especially in a society that openly tries to hold black people and the lgbt community back it’s refreshing to see a successful black teen getting recognition
@Peace2humankind
@Peace2humankind 2 жыл бұрын
@@canipetthatdawg9377 Using black people how I did is does not suggest a monolith, it suggest a large portion having a specific belief. Being a valedictorian doesn't get you on a national tv platform. My point is irrefutable and is so truthful that you had to respond some 2 years later. The truth hurts but he can always recover and take a productive mental path. The world is rooting for you.

Choosing any label and having sex with whoever fits with that label - or even having a relationship with someone for a few years - is easy enough for just about everyone. Long term relationships are far, far more complicated. Straight women and bisexual men as a long-term couple are especially, and inherently, problematic. This is not widely known because no one posts about it in social media. It's very personal and very painful. Discovering years down the line that you're fundamentally incompatible isn't something you brag about.

You dumb? Valedictorian refers to students who received 4.0gpa, aka PERFECT straight A’s throughout the entirety of highschool. They usually get a special speech that is longer, and they can say wtvr they want - their hope/ background story/ advice for students/etc etc. Being bisexual and struggling bc of it for the longest time has affected his mentality and character. He is telling the crowd to be proud of who they are.. so it was necessary for him to tell his story and truth.
