I love the fact that John is having fun with his life even though it seems busy, He still pushes through life to sk8 and have fun! :)

You know my favourite part about this video? The fact you were smiling even as you were messing up attempts at tricks. I feel like it's been a while since you've smiled and looked like you were having fun even through the fails and that made me happy to see. I'm glad you had a good session and can't wait to see your next! :)

I bought a few pairs of straye shoes years ago and they always did me well. I miss my lavender pair! The first thing to go was the sole from “too much” pushing

hi tops used to be THE skate shoe in the 80s and early 90s. Protection for rolls and ankles and then they became padded for even more protection. The skinny low tops shift is really weird to me. I just bought some hi tops too from Etnies. They are great!
@jrmne61983 ай бұрын
Love the endorsement for high tops. I’m currently rehabbing an ankle sprain, so I’ve been thinking of making the switch. Would’ve loved to hear more of a comparison between these and low tops. But still a solid video and session!! 👏🏽👏🏽.

Super good. Your trick lists are always bonkers. If I could just land one of those in my lifetime.... I guess you have a few years experience on me though. Keep up the great videos!

A tip I have seen is people using some more floppy high top shoes with an upper made of a thin leather/synthetic leather in a Converse like shoe so they get protection but have mobility.

Louie Lopez Converse Midtops are amazing. They feel so natural right away and all around perfect shoe for me. Going to be buying it non stop till I cant.

I sprained my right ankle twice in the span of one month wearing the grant taylor Nikes I’m convinced it’s because of the shoes. I’m going to try and get high tops to see if they make a difference.

13:49 no public transport in LA? 😀 The thing I rly like with skateboarding in my country is: Just use the train, bus, subway, what ever is available for the longer distance and use the skateboard for the short and in between. So much fast often than car. In german cities so far my experience in speed is: Skateboard is often faster than bike, bike is always faster than car.

@crispy-k4 ай бұрын
High or low doesn't really matter if you ask me. It's the fit, and personal feeling. Some like them large and loose or large and tight. Yes i'm still talking about shoes.

Haven't been able to wear low tops for 10 years now. My ankles are thrashed. P.S. if you don't tie high tops to the top, there's really no point
@RiseUpFool4 ай бұрын
Still has the protection with the mobility if you don’t lock it down wym
@John_Lee_4 ай бұрын
@@RiseUpFool there's no extra stability if your ankle is rocking around. What protection are you referring to? The grip tape?
@ReeWebster4 ай бұрын
Slight side note: I remember the D3s got so soft, like slippers, instead of tweaking ur ankle the shoe would just twist around the foot; saved many torn ligaments did those feet pillows 🤣
@dirtyxhippynerd803813 күн бұрын
Does grip tape rip grip tape? If not I was thinking you could cover the contact points of the shoe with grip tape to prevent or at least significantly reduce wear and tear

If you want a shoes that skates like a slip on but the height of a high top you should try the globe dover by Austyn Gillette. Those shoes are the best specially if you like to skate slip on shoes.

I don't really understand your or anyone elses view on so called "vegan" shoes not sure exactly how completely synthetic materials that will take thousands of years to decompose compared to real leather/suede which wouldn't and would be extremely less harmful to planet you know that little thing everything talks about mircoplastics you contribute to that when buying crap like vegan stuff but whatever illusion you tell yourself to make you feel better xD
