@@mouhiazeck My thoughts are that magic and magical potions can both achieve the same things, but just done in different ways, so even if someone had taken such a potion, she could just simply devise a way to completely reverse it, and vice versa. So in this case, it's all too possible that the king was modified via spell rather than potion, and her being essentially vaporized meant all of her spells ceasing to work. Or in layman's terms, potions can achieve a lot and is very easy to automate (probably so she can turn it into a business), but direct spells can still achieve the exact same thing, albeit being somethig only experts can do, and would cease to work upon their demise. At least, that's my personal theory.

Having this movie on DVD is so great. You get Far Far Away Idol after the credits: which is a display of a bunch of characters singing classic tunes. Then you get to pick which character wins, but if you pick certain characters Simon Cowell declares himself the victor. Also, when you boot up the disc, the main screen lays out the main cast in a "Brady Bunch" format, and they all have dialogue to yell at eachother. In short: it's great!

The theory behind the king turning into a frog was that he had the happy-ever-after potion to turn human and the effect was immediately broken because the maker of the potion ceased to exist. Thus, the curse, although it was reflected, seemed to have had an effect on the king. Why Shrek didn't turn back into his OG is something I don't know.

Yes, King Harlod is Prince Frog. There were several hints to this in the movie before the reveal. His bedroom has frog colors and attires draped everywhere (pictures with Ponds and lily pads), the details on his first date with his future wife where they walked around the fountain pond, and the pub Harold goes to find an assassin, there is a a lady of the night (who is also a FROG btw) asking if she knows him. There are several others hints but I won't list the rest here, you can find them if you look hard enough.
