The ODSP recipients did not get any increase for the amount of cost of living from September 2018 to August 2022. They survived with their benefit for $1,169 monthly even though the cost of grocery food went up from time to time.

These companies make gross amount of money by cutting employees and putting prices up after developing an algorithm through point cards companies are benefitting not the customer

No the Canadian Dollor is very low right now. Costs are always higher when buying power is low.

@@maryjeanjones7569 weak dollar is directly related to lower interest rates and to weak economy hence the Trudeau regime 😂

It's just gonna get worse if you don't control government spending. You do know that Canada has a 6 to 4 ratio government to private workers. Any country once reached the 5-5 ratio government to private section will collapse.

So is Poilievre gonna congratulate Trudeau for reducing gas prices?😂😂

Axe the carbon tax this is the real driver of inflation!
@Sam19509Күн бұрын
Nope then why are prices rising in US & Europe? Poilievre is a lying grifter.😂😂

Price gouging is driving up inflation . If apples go from $1 to $2 a pound and a truck has 40,000 pounds of apples , that's $40,000 more for 1 truck full of apples . How can they justify a $40,000 increase for 1 truck of apples?

@Cutlerypotato Wrong , people stayed home and cooked their own meals and took up baking . The stores made a killing . You're not fooling anybody .

Governments and central banks create inflation, not individual actors in the economy.

Butter, milk, cheese are not only cheaper in Europe but also better quality, while here we are wasting milk, food because of the quotas/milk-poultry-groc mafia. What happened to the bill they just passed to hold the 5 chains to account?! Utterly useless, these people!

Best course of action at this point is to hold an early election. Canada definitely needs to fill out the leadership hole made by Harper leaving in 2015.

Low Canadian dollar is driving up food prices. Most of our food is imported which costs more when the $Dollar is so low.

All by design, why are healthier foods so expensive?
@MisterMister58932 күн бұрын
Raw food is more expensive because it's not subsidized. I'm guessing all the processed foods are subsidized because the manufacturers/producers know you'll get addicted and keep coming back.

The local No Frills have raised their prices all by $1. Peanut butter $7 per kg, granola bars for the kids, $5 per box. Popsicles are even $7 a box. what a joke. We got inflation down right...

Carbon tax, higher wages, higher regulations, higher corporate taxes. Of course Canadian food can't compete with the US.

*Solution, For every dollar the big grocery stores earn in profit, a percentage of each dollar should go towards reducing the prices for the things that matter. let's vote for that a country's poverty is largely due to the hoarding of wealth by a few. if a country only prints and issues a limited amount of money the more rich people hoard that wealth it makes the worker ever more poorer. since the 80s the charts and graphs show that the CEOS are paying the worker less and hoarding more of the companies wealth to themselves. when it should be in the pockets of those who work*

*Competition in the grocery sector is not the solution, because 1 or 2 companies own the rest of the so called competition.* Which grocery stores are owned by Loblaws? They include: Atlantic SuperstoreTM, Dominion®, Loblaws®, Maxi®, No Frills®, Provigo Le Marché®, Valu-MartTM, Real Canadian Superstore®, Wholesale ClubTM, Your Independent GrocerTM and ZehrsTM.
