The CURE for insomnia is physical ACTIVITY, NOT DRUGS. THE SUN and activity is the only remedy. Remember, she is a an Allopathic practitioner, not holistic. She herself has a sleep disorder due to lack of activity. Yet, as one ages, the will to exercise could diminish. Thats where the road meets the r u beer and we either force ourselves or take pharmaceuticals. THE basic eating of whole organic food, least greens, fruit n vegetable protein far, far surpasses the slow digestion of animal protein. Less is more.,

I don't even try to share any information I come across with any doctors, they get really upset and defensive and try to make you feel you don't know what you're talking about. It's so sad when when most health practitioners are so unhelpful that it's left to the individual to take their health in their own hands. My training is in engineering so it takes me hour and weeks of research for each health topic.

She hits the nail on the head when she says people are blamed for their sleep problems. No doctor has ever approached my problem from this angle, not even sleep specialists. In fact, I had a Vitamin D level of 17 and they didn't even bother to tell me. A new functional medicine doctor mentioned it a year later. I've been challenged on how much coffee I drink when I drink NONE. I've been brought to task for staying in bed when I cannot sleep. If I got up to do things I would NEVER sleep. Of course people break sleep hygiene rules when they haven't worked. Now that I've started keto and supplements for my adrenals (including Vitamin D) I'm beginning to see some improvements in sleep. I've waited 12 years for this information and much of that was spent in futility in doctors offices. Mike, thank you for all of the information you're bringing to people.

It was similar for me Laurie. I used fairly strong prescription sleeping pills to sleep for many years and my Vitamin D level in early 2016 was 10.5. It's now close to 70 and after 1.5 years of eating a whole foods based ketogenic diet I now sleep perfectly every night. I haven't even so much as taken aspirin since starting keto let alone any prescriptions. Congrats -- sounds like you're well on the way to some amazing personal changes.

They do. Children I work with have rubbish diets. I’m surprised they’re still alive! Junk replaces fruit and veg . Reconstituted meats and no real nutritional there. Children brain washed by advertising. Addicted to the preservatives and addictive. The parents fault . The government’s fault . The parents are also addicted to fast food and junk food . Schools teach healthy eating but the information is way outdated . Treats are often foods that damage us . The focus needs to be changing the usage of treat , the word . The actual meaning . Good that damages humans is poison not a treat . Thinking and actions need changes . We can cure ourselves but culture and trends will kill us . Take care I’m on your side ❤

@@makaismith2071 im a nurse and i have a chronic disease so have moved on from acute care. I now teach but beat to the same drum: you follow policy of employer and strive for best practices as much as possible. Unfortunately many professionals will reprimand people going against the grain, even when it is evidence based. This is someones livelihood and discretion must be taken. To do that in situations not calling for it could mean their job and livelihood. Im not saying its right but its not as easy as just pouring your heart about it. As a nurse you cannot take advantage of someones trust, discuss personal things and you must follow policy..so going against will bring a hammer down. I take discretion for my license first when in my personal time only.. What I say is for education purposes only and always work with your primary care practitioner for all dietary changes. I will not help someone change their diet until they understand what's happening in their body and the doctor is taking charge of meds. It would be highly irresponsible to not be thorough or be able to follow up appropriately. Those are my nurse pennies. 🖖🙏

Darylne... I am white, of Irish descent, and had a severe vitamin D deficiency. Sorry to say, doctors don’t tell any of us about vitamin D deficiency. It is only this last year or two that the mainstream medical establishment in the US is finally starting to come clean about the fact that most human beings of any color are deficient ( and in magnesium and B vites as well). You see, if we all stay healthy, drug companies lose money. And drug companies absolutely hate that a simple non-pharmaceutical can take a huge bite out of their profits. Yes, doctors absolutely need to tell black and brown folks about vitamin D. They need to tell everyone. I have been telling my black husband of 20 years that he is deficient and he would not believe me until he finally went to the doctor and was told he was nearly depleted. He thought he was completely healthy since he’s athletic and in great shape for his age. He doesn’t drink, smoke or engage in any risky behavior. He watches me take my daily 20,000 IUs of vitamin D3 $ K2 And was too arrogant to consider that he was also deficient. He now tells all of his black friends to get checked out.

@@sethpawlik ... it’s the same for every single community in every part of the world. Every person who has died of any type of cancer was severely deficient in vitamin D. It’s well documented, yet American cancer societies refuse to make that knowledge front and center. This has been one of the most helpful episodes yet. At least for me. I have had horrible sleep issues for many years, body pain, weight gain, depression, and horrid migraine headaches for much of my life. A couple years ago I started having heart rhythm issues as well. I very much felt as if my body was against me and that I was going to age at an accelerated rate. I started with melatonin which gave small results for the sleep portion but enough for me to continue. I knew that low vitamin D was an issue for me from blood tests. So that came next. I take 5000iu daily. My mood elevated slightly and at least the fog was gone. Next was magnesium I started taking it nightly and my sleep and headache pain improved even more. My heart rhythm is starting to even out! There’s light at the end of that tunnel. I do get the burning and prickly feelings in my hands and feet. So next is B vitamins. I will continue with this. This talk is divine in nature. At least for me. It was as if the clouds parted. This is me on so many levels. I believe I will find that balance now. Thank you so very much!

Several tests were conducted and everything showed I was in perfect health, yet I couldn't stop feeling tired with extremely low energy. It was through a "miracle" that a lab tested for my vitamin D and realised it was significantly low. In fact, they were surprised I was even functioning at all. I have never joked with my Vitamin D after that day. I read more about it and realised people with darker skin need to spend more time in the sun for their bodies to metabolise vitamin D. If you live in cold weather or do not get enough sunlight, please get yourself a good Vit D supplement. Please remember, it is important to check with your doctor before taking any medication. Knowledge is power.

I am vitamin D deficient as per a lab test. I’ve been prescribed a vitamin D/ calcium supplement. I read the vitamin D supplement is actually a hormone which concerns me. Can I receive enough vitamin D via the sun as a natural alternative vs a supplement?

This video has been posted for less than one month and it's already in the top 7 for HIH site views, and well on it's way to #2 (not sure it takes out Dr. Fung's interview with how wildly popular he has become). Mike - that's a clear indication of the interest we all have for you to bring Dr. Gominak back as soon as you can - again, probably my favorite interview so far and I've seen every one on your site. Congrats!

This video randomly appeared on my watch recommendation list. Thank you for this. What a fascinating, informative interview. He is the best interviewer I’ve seen in ages..... Knowledgeable respectful and professional. And the Dr’s commitment, dedication and persistence to her scientific research is admirable. I particularly valued her honesty in what she acknowledged as her personal observation versus actual proven facts. A breathe of fresh air. I’ve ordered my Bees and D3 already!!!

Cookie Cutter I have more enamel on my teeth now. I now discovered it was the vegan diet that made me lose tooth enamel. My sunken eyes from the vegan diet are also now reversed. I also go outside more now, and I am not afraid of full fat dairy or other animal products anymore. It was a combination of lack of sun and a lack of animal fats in my diet in my particular case. I should watch this video again it has been a long time .

Sabrina hi, i went vegan for 4 months to clean up my liver & i wonder up with Panic Attacks, dry, old looking skin & terrible insomnia. switching to plant based omega 3s was a particularly bad idea because my body couldn’t convert it . that caused the panic attacks. once i went back to normal diet & added a good fish based omega 3, i got better. I’m doing low carb now with intermittent fasting & that seems to really agree with me.
