I recently ordered my 1st chin mount

My Dango came with a lanyard that works great. My only concern is that the clamp would have broken ribs or my collar bone if I had been wearing it in a crash in the past. Barbed wire wrapped in my front wheel throwing me over the bars and chin of my helmet into my collar bone. I still use the mount but it's always in the back of my mind.

Lanyard is good on Dango but a camera hanging on your helmet in a race still sucks. And the Dango would be much bigger swinging there.

Think I'm going to try one of these. I have a SoPro which is fine but a bit bulky, this seems much lighter.

I also love my Dango, but I recently started using the wannabes mounts and they are the best out there, indestructible! Plus they are one piece instead of having to use that GoPro attachy thingy.

I know the mini saves you around 20grams (and has non replaceable battery). But that's kind of wasted if you run a 40-85grams helmet mount (dango at the heavier end). I use a curved version of the tiny standard mout (5g) with a batteryless gopro (120g). At the rear of the helmet I velcro on a 100g battery to counterbalance it and it gives me 5-6hrs of continous filming.

The OCD part of me cringes when you place your helmet on that surface and move it around scratching the clear coat on the helmet😂@7:48. Put a towel under it, want to keep the helmet looking good if you can!

I recently purchased this chin mount for my GoPro Hero 11, and I am extremely disappointed with it. I followed the instructions carefully, including using a hair dryer to heat up the adhesive and letting it sit for 24+ hours before using it. However, despite this, my GoPro fell off the mount within 4 days of using it, causing damage to my GoPro Max Lens (costing me $100 to repair). I contacted the customer service team, and they offered to send me a new double-sided tape. However, I am not confident that this will solve the problem, given that the mount failed within 4 days in the first place. I am also concerned that the double-sided tape may not be strong enough to hold my GoPro in place during strenuous activities, such as mountain biking or snowboarding. Overall, I am very disappointed with this chin mount. It is poorly designed and unsafe to use. Huh. I have 2 on different helmets that have never failed and that’s hundreds of hours of riding and filming. Of course anyone who is actually serious about an activity would just not run a camera and focus on on the task at hand.

It was only 10 bucks and mine fit great and has worked well for over an entire race season. Sorry you had trouble. Might want to invest in english lessons and grammar lessons. Just saying.

@@GurrasGarage hahaha. I’m sure it is. I am affiliated with them and dango and Insta 360. I will call a spade a spade and my chin mount has held up very well and fit perfectly. I use a fly helmet and it is great.
