This production was absolutely incredible. I was hoping and kind of expecting them to put out a bluray of it as they have with so many of their productions - including Showboat... especially since it is clear that a multi-cam recording exists!

Saw Brian Mulligan this summer at the Aspen Music Festival in Aida and had no doubts that this would be a wonderful production of him in the title role of Sweeney Todd.

Why is Anthony a bass Baritone? Not complaining though I just find it unusual

He is really meant to be played as a young baritone, but it’s written as tenor just to make sure the person playing him sounds young if he isn’t. But as long as whoever plays him looks the age (17-20) any voice works really. Of course you need the high F, but that’s well within most male voices.

Oliver Delica Elliot madore was around 28 at the time of this performance. He’s actually a lyric baritone, if what Wikipedia says is true.

Opera “acting” is like silent film acting… all pulling faces - no internal emotion. Eghhhhh… painful. won’t mention which performers I’m referencing… make up your own mind.

Anthony should’ve been a tenor and they should have hired a child or teen singer for Tobias. Something about an adult actor as Tobias cringes me.

Anthony is written in the score as a baritone.

Tobias can be either really. The movie started the whole casting a child as the character.

But he's a mentally challenged adult. Ken Jennings was original cast and he was an adult

BUT I don't like this singer doing it either. Too adult. Nothing at all is "young" about his demeanor
