There's a way to take advantage of the game’s movement speed mechanics, especially with the extortion options in towns, which essentially give you free items and cannons. The idea is simple: level up Cutler and get the skill that grants his selected crew an additional +2 movement speed. Then, equip that crew member with items and ship modules that further boost movement speed. Here’s the step-by-step execution: 1, Place your fastest crew member as close as possible to the extraction point. 2, Position the captain wherever you like; their starting position isn’t crucial. 3, the start of the fight, have the captain use their ability to give the crew member more movement speed. 4, Simply have that crew member walk to the extraction point. 5, Repeat this process.

Hopping in the ocean should be a feature in most if not all pirate games. And Sea of theives Black flag and Atlas were all awesome at that.

You can really feel that this studio did Hard West 2 before. I'm impressed by the quick surprise release to be honest, but it seems to be very good quality and combines Slay the Spire with Into the Breach.

@@momoaa I'm a regular user. This game combines gameplay elements from these 2 games in a clever way, that's why I mentioned them. I don't see a problem with that. The game also got generally favorable reviews, so in my opinion the quality of this game isn't as bad as you describe it.

I will say, I’m a little disappointed that there’s no character customization whatsoever… I was hoping this was a little more on the XCOM side when it came to managing your squad.
