You know why the background is the same for a few singers? There were four (4) winners at that Eurovision Contest (with the Spanish announcer, 1969).

She was in a compilation of previous winners a few years ago, at 70 something she still has an amazing voice, she is still beautiful and I cried my eyes out because it was such a moving performance

They are so catchy because they had to sing in the language of the country they represented. It was all about the music and the voice.

Highly, you saw Lenny Kuhr before! She was on one of those rooftops ( with all the projections on it) when the EC was in the Nerherlands.

Great to see all these winners from the past, all except Frida Boccara still alive , and Lenny Kuhr still singing( i go to her concerts often) and Lulu also still touring. Lenny and Frida Boccara remained good friends after Frida's death she sung her eurovision song as a tribute to her sister and son.

The joy and passion of these songs are so catchy, all those happy tunes and even when it started to be a little sad, soon it will be lift you up. This is what this world needs so much....pure voices and real instruments, no tricks, just craftmanship of all musicians. La lala la lala lai lala

Watch the winning entry from 1969 and you'll be up half the night. Some other countries were so fed up with the scoring they didn't even turn up in 1970.

Am I right that you - as an American - have never heard these songs, where I - as a European - consider (most) of these as golden oldies? ‘Un jour, un enfant’ has even made it to my all-time favorites list on Spotify.

what makes it funnier is that right before the contest started that year somebody arised the doubt of what should be done in case yk a tie happened....and then 4 countries tied; after that ebu deviced a more complicated way to vote and eventually it worked so it became the norm and there were no more ties again, save for an ex aequo between two if im not wrong in the early 2000s but it was solved easily thro the new voting system

he Highly , lenny kuhr ......she was in the rooftop edition of the eurovision you reacted to from 2/3 years ago and she was wearing the same dress only she made it shorter to make it more modern isn"t that fun
