HIGHWAY POV Drive | 50 Year Old Leyland AUTHI Mini 850

How well can a 50 year old classic Mini cope with modern traffic? This car is a 1973 Leyland-AUTHI Mini 850 Deluxe (upgraded to a 998 A+) built in Spain.
Weather temperature was 26º C degrees under a sunny midday and the standard cooling system kept the engine below 86º C degrees thus proving that no electro fan nor other assistance is required with a clean and well mantained cooling circuit.

Switch gear looks a little different to his English cousins'. What's in the middle of the panel? On a UK car it'd be a manual screen wash pump, if there was a steering lock. That looks like an illuminated pull switch, the toggle switches would also have changed to rocker switches by '73.

A lighter is in the middle. It is very unsual even in Authi Minis (I've never seen this before apart from the Authi Mini Cooper which has this lighter as standard) and it was most probably factory fitted to some units to fill the hole left in some stock plates when they started production of ignition key at the steering column instead of the ignition barrel at the center of that panel. In 1973 Authi Minis specifications were almost identical to UK ones as by the 70's this was just another British Leyland production center.
