In 1972 he had just graduated Highschool and was sweeping floors at SeeFactor in London, one of the first of the big Rock Lighting Suppliers. All the regular crews were out on different tours, and the Deep Purple contract for the Machine Head Tour came in, so after 2 weeks of sweeping, clem was sent on his first World Tour! I wonder if you're familiar w DP's '60s work? Specifically, 'THE BOOK OF TALIESYN'... similar sound sonically, but completely different vibe. It was, loosely, a concept album, based on the legend of King Arthur- according to some legends, Taliesyn was a Welsh wizard/mystic & advisor to the king. Most of the songs contain references to the kingdom, & there's an overlay of mysticism! I recommend 'Listen, Learn, Read On' to start! (BTW, the album is very 'weed-friendly'- LOL!)

@beernmetal6964 Жыл бұрын
The camera does not show the keyboard or guitar solo because someone took the live audio album "Made in Japan" and merged it with the live video (which is inferior, audio-wise). Also, Mr. Blackmore didn't like being filmed while playing. He's hit people before by getting too close. The "Made in Japan" live album took the best individual song from multiple concerts of the tour. If you want to hear the best, use the album. If you want to see them, watch the videos. You should check out "Strange Kind of Woman" and "Child in Time" from the live album (not the video). I wore this cassette out several times going around loop 610 and Westheimer Rd several times in the early '80s.
