Thank you! I just moved to CA and I’m loving your videos. Trash in the forests are insane here in CA. In Michigan there was never trash, or debris on trails, or state parks. That was a bit of a shock to us. It’s pretty disheartening, which is why we take our own trash bags and pick up other peoples trash along the way.

Thanks! That's so great you do that! There's a lot of trash free areas but unfortunately this beautiful area is getting overwhelmed. Hopefully enough positive people and information will help. 🙂

The number of people who seem to think it's okay to toss used tissues on or right beside the trail is infuriating. I don't know if it's clueless tourists or just sheer number of people guarantees just enough bad apples.

Thanks Charlie! I love this area. I hadn't been there in years. Graffiti and trash everywhere. Amazing water hole in the mountains.

That’s a terrific well-made video but given that much of the San Lorenzo Valley is still on septic tanks, some commentary about health risks is appropriate. The risks may be minor today or they may be major but water quality and the levels of pathogens deserves some mention.

Thanks! I plan on making more videos in the area. That info will fit in one of them 😉.

Yeah I waded through on Buckeye Trail last week and it was NOT a great smell! Same for the Junction up in Boulder Creek. A healthy septic wouldn't be a problem, but people let them crack and degrade so raw sewage leaks out.

Are you able to fish here?

Websites say yes, you can. However, I've never fished there, so I'm not 100% sure.

Their website literally say dogs are allowed but in 3 areas, which garden of Eden are not a part of… so confusing

It really is confusing.

I remember going to GOE and there was no trash no people no graffiti and awesome fishing. What happened? Has the environmental movement had the opposite affect on our youth? Especially in Santa Cruz! I don’t get it.

I hadn't been in years and it was shocking!! I initially was going to do a fun hiking video. I quickly changed it to bring to people's attention what is happening to this place. I hope positive changes can be made. Very sad.
