Did you fix it? I have a Pittsburgh jack too

No, the piston on the left side is broke. I ended up buying a Daytona 2 ton aluminum jack & it is smoother & easier to pump vs the Pittsburgh 2.5 ton aluminum. I hope I get more than 3 years from the Daytona jack vs the Pittsburgh 2.5 ton aluminum jack.

Thanks. My 40 year old craftsman jack failed me this morning in the same way you demonstrate. I will try this technique to bleeding air from the system. I have no seal leaks, so I hope it is just a bit of air to purge.

I have a ProLift 2000kg from Australia, has the 3 adjusting screws, 2 on the left and one on the right. I Tried topping up the fluid still nothing, my manual says fill it till 12mm under the plug then just pump the handle while loose / valve released to remove any air, still would not lift under pressure only without pressure, so I took the first screw out it has a second adjusting screw below that so never touched it, took the second one out on the left side looking from the back, that screw only another cap to access the screw inside, so on the right side the single screw I removed it has a long stem to adjust the pressure, so I replaced it to where it was and kept doing it up bit by bit till the jack finally lifted under pressure. I wish they explained what each screw does but all it says don't adjust, they rather you send it off to make money off you, my jack only been used 5 times since new. Once I got it to lift under pressure I backed the screw out again, no more lift under pressure, so yeah Definitely the adjusting screw for pressure, so I did it up again till it lifted under pressure, just a bit at a time you don't want to go to crazy with the adjustment. God bless.
