On our first stop in Patagonia we spent a good 2 weeks in Argentina to explore great hikes and Things to do in Bariloche in preparation for the upcoming adventures

Bariloche in Argentina is located at the northern end of the region Patagonia and serves as the perfect gateway to start our adventure. Surrounded by lakes and situated close to the Andes you can go for big variety of activities. While it is one of the largest ski ressorts in South America in winter it turns into a hikers paradise in summer.
Rather than hanging out in the city itself we used it as a base to drive around the 7 lakes, hike & camp to the Tronador and climbed our way up to Frey, Cerro Campanario and Catedral. With this we can give you a bigger picture of the area and you can easily use this video as a Bariloche Guide for your own trip!
This part of the trip was executed within 1,5 weeks by using the local buses and a well planned itinerary after we flew in from Buenos Aries - following I list all the places we visited & Things to do in Bariloche:

I'm excited to share all our experiences in Patagonia over the course of the next 8 weeks with you. In the next episodes we will Hitchhike the Carretera Austral, trek through the most impressive mountain ranges, ice hike over the glaciers of the southern Patagonian Icefield and meet impressive characters along the way.
The Patagonian Expedition is a 95% self funded video documentary project following my trip in 2012/2013. Our aim is to show you the beauty of the rather unknown parts in Patagonia alongside with the famous spots.
Beside beautiful landscape you can expect loads of information and our personal experiences and struggles along the way.

Bariloche is the crown jewel of Argentina. It is, IMHO, one of the best places on earth. We visited Bariloche for four weeks in Feb of 2019 and we wanted to come back in 2020. During my visit, we stayed at the history Llao Llao hotel which is the most beautiful hotel that we've ever stayed in my life. My beautiful wife and I took the exclusive trip from Bariloche to Chile via boat and bus through the seven lakes and jungle of the Andes mountain. It is one of the trips that not many people know about. The tour ended at Puerto Varas Chile. We stayed in Puerto Varas for a few nights and then traveled to Puerto Monte. It was an experience of a life time for me. Bariloche is famous for steak, lamb, wine and ofcourse chocolate. My wife would like to move to Bariloche permanently. We're looking to buy a home in Bariloche at a place call Arelauquen, a very high development where my wife can have a full view of the mountains and lakes.

Hi we just returned from an Argentina adventure. Your footage of the Refugio Frey trek was excellent. What a trek down. Hope to do Tronador next time. Great restaurant called Punto Panaramico on the driving circuit around Llao Llao peninsula that has good food fresh salads and an incredible view. Already miss the breath taking scenery.

The views across to the Chilean Andes were superb. This through walk can be done as 2 separate day walks (skip the trickier traverse ). My detailed videos show you how and may encourage you. Hi! When/which month did visit Patagonia? The view looks amazing but we are only heading there in Late May/early June

They seemed to be there for one of the summer months (november-early march). you'll be going much closer to winter, and the ski season in bariloche starts around mid June. There probably will be much more snow when you go. Don't worry tho, it's just as beautiful in winter as it is in summer.

During the summer season there are regular bus connections between osorno and bariloche - so you need to make your way to Osorno first!

Hi there! I don't know when they filmed this, but being from Argentina I can tell you that was definitely during summer (in the southern hemisphere), so January - early March.

Hi krieg9. Hope you are working out - it's worth the effort😀. One of our all time fav hikes was a 3 day through hike in Northern Patagonia, in Argentina's Nahuel Huapi National Park. The spectacular traverse from Refugio Lopez to Refugio Laguna Negra (Italia) was a highlight - the views across to the Chilean Andes were superb. The scree slopes ... A must on anybody's hiking bucket list. Chile was great too - the people are lovely there and the scenery's equally fabulous. Good luck. Happy & safe hiking.

Hi High Flyer. We used public transport too here. One of our all time fav hikes was a 3 day through hike in Northern Patagonia, in Argentina's Nahuel Huapi National Park. The spectacular traverse from Refugio Lopez to Refugio Laguna Negra (Italia) was a highlight - the views across to the Chilean Andes were superb. Without snow the scree slopes of these magnificently decaying mountains were very challenging!! A must on anybody's hiking bucket list. Happy & safe hiking.

Beautiful beautiful videos. If you could lower the volume of music, it would be much pleasing. I am constantly adjusting the volume because music is too high and your speech is too low. Sorry to say this.
