A lot of people who ended up liking the game said that they really couldn't recommend it, but from watching those reviews including yours it has made me want to pick up the game. Loved the review though as well as that funny KH opening.

I found a meditative rhythm with this game. Maybe I'm in a minority, but I love exploratory games like this and Breath of the Wild. They ain't like other open world games where traversal gets in the way of the game stuff. The traversal IS the game stuff, and conquering the wilderness was the rewarding part. Plus the whole ending with Mads Mikklesen had me in tears. Powerful stuff. The fact that moments like that co-exist with clunkers like the 'Princess Beach' scene are part of that Kojima factor. He's an entity onto himself. He ain't shit. He ain't a genius. He's both at the same time!

After the video, I got into that rhythm and found a zen quality in building ziplines. Getting that Plat was one of my favorites.

Did you know, I watched this one. I never got around to picking this one up. I wanted to because of the hideo factor. After watching this, I really want to. Though, I don't feel I have time in my for it. The idea that you social network by building a network of roads to make the game more enjoyable... It's beautiful. The internet is a stupid place, but not when its done this way. Just the idea reminds me of internet forum groups that have a common goal in mind.... Ya know, other than shit posting.... Well, the game is on steam now, right? Maybe I give it a try one day... I'm afraid if I wait too long, I'll miss out on the social networking part. What a case of fomo I have. Thanks hikiko. This is what you do to me.

My main issue with the "do no harm" mechanic is that you get non lethal options BEFORE lethal options which makes no sense in my opinion
@HikikomoriMedia4 жыл бұрын
Well that makes sense for the world, considering the devs probably did not want players causing a voidout before the first scripted (story) one.

I really really love this game but i think Kojima also missed some real major opportunities that could have really made this diamond of a game shine even brighter. I might be the minority in saying this but to me what makes Death Stranding work is that the gameplay is about making choices, you decide everything that happens between point A to point B. From your route, to your loadout, and especially after a certain point, what you'll interact with along the way. Kojima did a lot of things right with how he designed the game but where i think he went wrong was not doing more to make your loadout before doing missions more impactful. The best example i can put forward are the weapons, the non-lethal rifle and riot shotgun completely invalidate the Bola Gun when they didn't have to. What Kojima should have done is relegate lethal guns for killing humans, BTs, and Bosses with non-lethal guns relegated to incapitating humans, BTs, and being completely useless against bosses which would make planning your routes much more worthwhile. if you want me to speak more and i do have more to say, i wouldn't mind going to your discord
@frogface8615 жыл бұрын
Kingdom Hearts intro? That doesn't bode well for this game then! xD 4:58 I always find these "social interactions" bits in your videos Miles. Because they always end up in the worst social situations. xD Kojima is the only person who'd make a mailman simulator overly complex for the sake of complexity. 9:26 Kojima puts in his scat fetish in yet another of the games he worked on. So what was Mads Madsens role in this game? Why wouldn't he treat it with respect? It's like any acting job except that the physical movement is done by a 3d model in the finished product. :) Shame youtube's encoding doesn't doesn't do game graphics justice. Great video review Miles. One of your better videos this year imo.
