After having two Goldens, I can tell you what this is about: Attention. The Golden wants attention from the people, to have them come up & pet him, to talk to him. Being around all those people, he wanted more park time, more interaction time. Wasn't ready to go home until he got enough.

I love how he didn't punish or do anything cruel to his baby. He appreciated that she has feelings to. He found ingenious ways to connect with her. Getting to know her more was the greatest benefit.

When my dog pulled this crap, I just picked them up and carried them. She was a 60 lb Samoyed, and she HATED being carried. I'd carry her a block and would NOT let her down as punishment. Got me in shape.

I was the same with my kid, if he didn't do as he was told when out, he had to hold my hand at 5 years old this was unthinkable to him, except crossing roads etc. For he was James Bond OO7 had the haircut and everything. It works with dogs and little boys.😂😂😂😂

I had a collie, Kona who would lie down down and not get up until she was ready. It did not matter what I did, she would not budge, so I would just sit there with her till she was ready to get up and move. It usually took 10 to 15 minutes. I miss my little sweetie.🐕❤

This is exactly what my 2.8 years old male golden retriever does. Every single walk. And forget about jogging I used to be a jogger before I got a golden retriever lol😂 he constantly throws himself down to the ground and rolls on his back and he wants everyone🎉 to come up to him and pet him. I have a dog (I have 8, but I talk about Sylvester) I found this dog that I named Sylvester on the road. The third time I saw him abandonated I took him home. And he did exactly the same than your dog the day I wanted to walk him, BUT, he did that at my home, no way, he didn't want to go outside. He did the dead dog exactly like yours, no biscuit, no nice words (even delicious) would have make him walk outside. Yes, the door to the garden is ok for him and he crosses it without problem to play with the other dogs, but he absolutely didn't want to cross the entry door. He surely was effrayed to be abandonned one more time on the road.

It’s called “a protest” I’m not going home😂. Had shepherds at the beach who put on a protest against going home. Stay at the waters edge and just stare at me and be like “if you want me to come you’ll have to come get me.”😂. Great vid thank you❤️

I have a German Shepherd/Border Collie service dog and she has done the same thing once in a store but with higher energy. It was our first time training in a big store and she really liked rubbing against the rough floor, so she kept dragging herself across the ground and only stood up when I dropped something she had to get 😂 I was a bit embarrassed as a service handler, but it was also just too funny to correct her and she didnt take my attempts seriously as I couldnt keep a straight face

I happen to pass by a beautiful golden and her owner and she was so excited for me to love on her for a minute or two, I couldn’t resist and the owner gave me consent after asking first 😊. Then when it came time to go she hit the “instant sit booty down I’m not moving” stance immediately 😂😂😂. The owner grabbed a treat and she was more easily convinced lol. Goldens are so goofy amazing dogs 🥰🥰🥰.

We have a small great dane 130lbs who pulls this same stunt but at the vet!! She absolutely does not want to leave until she figures it's time to go. She's pulled this stunt in the vet office doorway, in the roadway in the parking lot at the vets office. We get exasperated and laugh at the same time. Most of the people passing by either smile or laugh as well.

My neighbour's Golden Retriever visits me several times a day. He throws himself down at my feet, belly up, and looks at me with doleful eyes until he gets a belly rub or his ears scratched. When he's had enough he scoots off only to return a bit later for some more of the same. I'm retired so this is a very fortunate dog. Lovies on tap 😆 🇿🇦
