This REALLY helped me! I now know I am a 7! I do feel the peacemaker vibe and I fear losing relationships if I’m too direct sometimes. But everything else aligns with 7. And I don’t mind you interrupting me. The faster the convo the better for me! I’m happy to just both of us talk at the same time. I can listen and talk at the same time. It saves time and I won’t get bored! 🤣
@star.light-3063 жыл бұрын
the fact the 7 dreams of goals but becomes uninterested when mundane details come up to turn them into a reality reminds me of how a 4 is led by their feelings - if they feel uninspired or bored it may affect their goals? i guess the only real differentiation is the core motivations and fears after all.

This was so helpful for me... I was not sure if I was a 7 or 9. Now I know I am a 7. The thing about interruption is very true for me. That's probably why I had to try hard to learn not to interrupt others or guessing what they will say next. It happens a lot because I get too excited. And I don't mind for the most part when it happens to me. The other thing resonated with me a lot was "knowing who you are and what you want". I was confused since I was not sure if I was a part of "head" or "heart". Since I do what I feel like to do for the mst part that part confused me about the seven. Maybe I need to read more into that topic. Thanks a lot for this video!

Hi Hilary, Thank you for the VDO. It is super helpful to me. I thought I was a 3 for the longest time because I did well in school and at work and I like to compete, but I didn't really have the drive to be a winner in everything that I do. Plus, I know my physical limits and never stayed up all night to do work. I just enjoyed the process of competing. An enneagram coach in Thailand suggested that I might be a 7 and that I should look into it. So I had been watching VDOs from you and others regarding a type 7 and I find this one to be the most helpful. I'm pretty sure now that I am a 7. I just want to say I'm a fan and thank you so much for all the wonderful content.

Hey Hillary, thanks so much for your videos! I really like them, so insightful and enjoyable. In this one, again I am very interested in grasping the inmost differences between the one-to-one seven and a four as well as the self-preservation four and a seven. And that one definite difference between the nine category and the seven in regard to the way they conceive communication in a conversation had me laughing! You nailed it!

This is such a good video!! I pretty much knew that I’m a 7 but read stuff that made me feel like a 2. I also identified as a 9 for a couple months before I read about the 7, but because of this video it makes sense why I’m not a 2 or 9!! I’ve also never seen anything about 279 being in a positive group which makes sense why I identified with all of them.

So I recently found out that I'm probably a seven and that's because I decided to focus more on the core fears and desires instead of behavior. I'm not that energetic nor do I have a bunch of plans (but I think that might be more from my environment and situation). But I know my core fears and desires is that of a 7s. I mistyped as a 9, 4, 5 and while I can relate to some of their behaviors, I can't relate at all to the reason why they do what they do.

I'm a writer and I've been reccomended to look up enneagrams to help me flesh out my characters motivations. I'm having difficulty narrowing down this one character. She's very bubbly, spontaneous and outgoing but deeply emotional and insecure. She's constantly beating herself up for being too much of a clutzy spazz. Especially since she's something of a famous figure, she desperately fears dissapointing people and not living up to their expectations. She's definately not in a healthy state of mind when we first meet her. She's 100% NOT the type to withdraw, so she's not necessarily afraid of conflict. She's more the type to act on impulse then fret about how cringy her actions came across later. She's not very organized but when she's into something she's ALL in.
@enneagramandcoaching4 жыл бұрын
Hmmm...at first guess she could be a 3w2. I love this. What’s motivating her? The 3w2s tend to be ambitious, charming, and enthusiastic in their behavior. They are driven and love to achieve. They tend to adapt their attitude to their environment. The bubbly and spontaneous part sounded like a 7 but being deeply emotional and insecure usually is not a 7 but can be a 3. What’s she look like or do when she’s not in a healthy state?
@enneagramandcoaching4 жыл бұрын
I’d watch my stances video. I’m wondering if she falls into the assertive stance or the compliant stance. That might help narrow it down too. Here’s the link kzbin.info/www/bejne/hanFi2akqMehsLc

@@enneagramandcoaching Thanks for responding so quickly. When she's not in a healthy state, she tends to wallow in self pity. She'll emotionally eat and berate herself for being the worst doll in the world (She's a doll, by the way.) For being a failure and letting everyone down. She's a drama queen and she knows it and hates it but can't keep it all together no matter how hard she tries. She longs for everyone's approval and is pretty touchy-feely, which sounds like a 2, but she's not shy about her needs AT ALL, which rules it out I think.
@marcellacassab43314 жыл бұрын
I've been doing a ton of research and I'm still at a loss. She's a 7 in pretty much every way EXCEPT for the driving motivation. Her driving motivation is definitely to be loved and valued by others. But what turns me off from labeling her a 2 is that she doesn't neglect her own needs and is DEEPLY emotional. She's incapable of burying her anger, sadness or anxiety for long. Something she's all too aware of and gives herself crap for. On another note, I'm 99% certain I'm a 5. Probably 5w4. So at least that's settled.
@enneagramandcoaching4 жыл бұрын
Ok so I’m going down the type 2 path first...maybe she is a heathly two. Here is what a healthy two would look like Level 1 (At Their Best): Become deeply unselfish, humble, and altruistic: giving unconditional love to self and others. Feel it is a privilege to be in the lives of others. Level 2: Empathetic, compassionate, feeling for others. Caring and concerned about their needs. Thoughtful, warm-hearted, forgiving and sincere. Level 3: Encouraging and appreciative, able to see the good in others. Service is important, but takes care of self too: they are nurturing, generous, and giving-a truly loving person. A two goes towards a 4 in Heath...which means they resemble the healthy qualities of the Type 4 by being in touch with their own feelings, opinions and needs. Have you looked into the type 4? Some of what you wrote sounds like a Self Preservation 4. Which can resemble a type 7 at times. Anyways hope this helps and doesn’t confuse you more 😂

Then I did a bunch of reading and studying. This video has me questioning though. Having been through a good bit of hard and negative things in life, I wouldn't wish some of what I've been through on my worst enemy. But because of what I've been through, I've prepared myself to handle and survive all sorts of difficult scenarios. I've thought that I'm a 7w6 because I resonate with all of the 10 signs you might be a 7, except for the reframing part, if I do reframe, I haven't noticed myself doing it before.

It is weird that 7 is a head type and it is so impulsive and afraid of pain. I don't think enneagram theory explains this well. Or I haven't seen anyone explain that in a way it makes sense yet.
@RupertSheldrake-if3 жыл бұрын
7 is a head type because 7 is always planning and thinking about what to do next. The 7 doesn't live in the present - rather, the 7 is always living in his head, in his plans and in the future. Also, the head type is characterised by the feeling of "fear", and the 7 truly is an anxious type - he is constantly afraid of boredom and pain, and does whatever he can to run away from it.

I was married to a 9 and I so totally think this was an awful thing I did to him. Hindsight... That definitely was not the only problem but my...I think everyone needs to learn about the Enneagram, I think there are so many problems that could be solved if we knew ourselves better.

One thing I don’t really understand is why the enneagram says that 5’s go to 7 in stress. I’ve been identifying as a 5 and I’ve also been making an effort to be more like a 7 (socialize and have lighthearted fun with people) and I feel like that’s me growing! It almost feels like 5’s aren’t allowed to even try to have fun? In any case I feel much happier now than I did. But the theory that 5’s behaving like 7’s is a sign of stress bothers me

When I took the test 7 was the third highest. After listening to things about all 3 of my highest ((,2 and 7) I really felt like 7 was the right one. When my son read the weaknesses, those were were the things that really made it clear and finally I found a video and it talked about 7w6 and I finally understood why I felt so conflicted. I loved this video and the whole series on mistyping.. And yes, moving around to different places is something I have to do! I have a lot of stuff I have to do at my desk but especially some days I am like, "I have to do something away from my desk!" And I really identified with the part about interruptions, I love the active conversations! But I guess I really need to be sensitive to people who may not like them so much. My favorite Starbucks drink is the Caramel Brulee Frappuccino it is only available in the winter. I also like the Salted Caramel one (only available in the fall). My go to drink the rest of the time is White chocolate Mocha Frappuccino with a pump of Toffee nut. It used to always be the Java Chip one but then I got kind of hung up on caramel-y things a;though I must confess the cookie crumble one is pretty good too (that's my summer one). Now the funny thing is with me throwing all of theses out here it probably sounds like I drink a lot of coffee. The truth is I probably only have maybe 8-10 of these a year but I do enjoy them!
