The advice on bolt lengths is very useful, I guess you have done a number of these conversions to get that experience, thanks.

Improved the Hillman Imp buy 100% its biggest problem was the engine Rootes used in the Hillman Imp but l have seen another Hillman Imp with the K series BMW engine and it would have a bit more horse power than the awful original Hillman Imp engine and be much more reliable also the engine bay looks a lot neater and tidter than the standard Hillman lmp

The imp engine was based on a cosworth design!
@lesklower72816 ай бұрын
@@raymondsanderson3768 Well it may have been from a cosworth design but it was a pretty awful engine the BMW K1200 engine was a far superior engine compared to the awful Hillman Imp engine they weren't very reliable as most British engines compare them with Toyota engines so far superior to those awful British and l know all all about them owned a three Hillmans back in the 1970s and they were under 10 years old and had blown head gaskets well l own a 27 year old Toyota Hilux and its the best carburatored vehicle l have ever owned and do any British car brands still exist today except for Jaguar and Land Rover and they are still building crap cars getting back to my Hilux it has done 437000 kilometres and the cylinder head has not been off also it doesn't burn any oil and it will do another 400000 kilometres easily because it's a Toyota the most popular vehicle brand in Australia for the past 25 years and Toyota are still making vehicles and have been building vehicles since 1937

Where can I buy this kit? I have a Davrian Mk 7 waiting for restoration and this BMW conversion would be great for use on the road....for Historic competition I'll use a race Imp unit.

I know RB Racing in the US developed a turbo application for the RS1200 fitted in a Grinnall Scorpion 3 in early 2000s. They gave 250, 275, and 300bhp. The car, belonging to Mark Hobbs, sadly met with an accident, luckily no-one was hurt...just a few cracked ribs as I recall.. The three-wheeler managed to do 100m upside down.... Stock RS1200 gives about 135bhp.

@@bobawatsit Hi Rob, I'm in France. My message wasn't clear....the 300bhp turbo engine was a K1200RS. My interest is to find someone who can supply the kit so I can use a K1200RS engine in a Davrian, which has always had Imp power.
