I have one of these in the basement now almost ready to build, just waiting for the last few parts. It looks good, hopefully it all works. One thing I will say, the paint is not great, its not the same quality of paint we see on the bikes in a bike shop. I love the look and lack of any logos, but the I don't, think its as durable. Anyway, if it works the way it's supposed to and doesn't break, I think it will be a decent bike. Your build is a lot nicer than mine, mine is gonna have 90% Aliexpress parts, only the bar, stem, grips, cassette, chain and tires will be name brand parts from a proper bike shop, the rest, including suspension and drivetrain parts, is all Chinese. I hope at least some of it works, particularly the fork, sice things could get real expensive, real fast if I have to start putting legit parts on this thing. I think I"ve identified this frame, like I mean what brand sells this frame with their logo on it, but I don't wanna name any names here, just say I've seen pro riders riding a bike that looks exactly like this, talking about how good their new bike is, and it looks like this bike but it is painted up with the name of a major bike manufactturer we've all heard of. I could be wrong, but the linkage, the seat tube gusset, everything matches.

@Keo. Can you measure the stand over height? From the floor to the point where the small top triangle meets the top tube. And from the floor to the point where the top tube meets the seat tube and also from the bottom bracket to the same point, the top tube meets the seat tube. It looks like all three sizes 15.5, 17, and 19 of 27.5" have the same stand over height. The top tube length is different and it is corresponding to the size. I purchased 15.5 size and length from BB to the point where the top tube and seat tube meet is 12.5" (center to center). Any pedal strikes or any other issues running a shorter travel fork? I’m looking for a budget trail frame with modern geometry, but I ride fast. I’m able to get my Jeffsey 29er to go as fast as my San Quentin 3, but it requires tons of extra effort. The trails where I live are super rocky and I really feel it in my spine after riding the hard tail. I’m looking for something in between my 27.5 hard tail and and full suspension 29er. Do you thinking running a shorter travel fork is a bad idea on this bike, keeping in mind that I go warp speed?
@KeoOutdoors2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I've been getting a lot of pedal strike. I'm going to extend my fork to the recommended 160mm. On a 29er it should be a 140mm the axle to crown measurement is 560mm.

But if speed is your this, you would want some pedaling efficiency and this wouldn't be ideal. Most horst link suspenion are steered towards the down hill performances.

@user-rl4ji5ne4o8 ай бұрын
The original Himalo frame is warrantied for a 160mm 560mmA2C fork. The HT angle is steep and Stack is a bit low and sticking other forks in, a 580mmA2C fork makes it sit well. 200mm DH fork makes the seattube so slack you can't put the saddle up fully. Of you're sticking an undersize fork in there it simply won't ride well and you'll suffer pedal strikes. 165mm cranks help there.
