In this video, Tim explores the differences between two types of pushups. These are worthy pushups to have in your bodyweight strength training endeavors. But I will warn you, they are indeed two different pushups.

I love the rocking Hindu pushup from the knees as I don’t yet have the mobility to do it from down dog… however, I guess I do rocking dive bomber push ups, as well. Both feel great all around the scapula region. As always, thank you!

Hey Tim, you will be interested to know that there is a variation of the Dand called the 'Ram Murti Dand'. It is exactly the same as the dive bomber.

Dive bomber push ups aka rammurti dand and it is the toughest variation of hindu puah ups. It is done with pranayam kumbhak ( holding your breath while performing the push up) moreover, its done very slowly and generally you ahould take one minute to perform just one push up, it activates almoat all the muscles and works your core too alongwith building inner strength and making your lungs and heart stronger. Kindly google about professor ram murti who invented the dand , to get more Info on his regimen of dands and baithaka, he was called ‘ the hercules’ by the queen of england. I personally perform 10 such dands 4 times a week and i can feel the difference in entire body, it builds you inside out but the main objective is to do it correctly as explained by prof.rammurti. Its more about quality than quantity.i still cant hold my breath more than 32-35 seconds even after soing this dand for almost 3 years now. Try it, its the most powerful exercise you would ever need to build your body and gain strength and stamina.

I was puzzled as to why it was called dive bombers. The nomenclature makes sense but if you understand the dand, you'd come to agree that dive bombers are just dand/reverse dand. I guess we call them dive bombers in the west because we don't know about the word dand

I’ve learned there are 100s of names for the same things. I’ve also learned you can make friends and enemies ,unwittingly, by what names you use. It’s kind of funny in a way. But it all goes back to what we were taught or how we learned something.

Yes being a Hindu i can say that these two are different push ups. Hindu push ups are very common in India and requires back flexibility and more difficult than regular. Dive Bombers are even more difficult. If i can do 50 regular, i can only do 25 Hindu and may be 15 to 20 Dive Bombers. But thats me and my opinion.

We call them both as Dand only. There are many types of Dand. Maybe west call it dive bomber but here we call the as ulta(reverse)Dand at my place.
