This one of my favourite Michael Brecker lineups. Around the time this concert took place there were some terrific studio albums coming out but seeing the great Brecker in the flesh was something else. If you were lucky enough to be close to the stage it was like experiencing a force of nature when he was soloing. A most welcome upload-thank you!

Powerhouse Rhythm section, Brecker at the top of his game, thanks for sharing. PS: Joey is not only a great player, but also a very fine writer, his two songs here 'El Niño' and 'Cat's Cradle' are really beautiful.

1999. The internet was new and we saw a new world emerging. It was the early days when we shared great things like this. I sat with my father and watched this concert real time in Athens Georgia. Now it seems trivial, but at the time, it was revolutionary. Who could have envisioned the positive and negative effects this technology would have on our society?

amazing band !!! Brecker is one of the most interesting saxophonits and Calderazzo's vibes give me amazing emotions, thank you for this beautiful moment. This rythm section is fabulous :)))))))))
PQP -- fire, grace and exeptional musicianship of the whole crew! I listened to this several times; everytime I was paying attention to a specific musician and his role with the other guys. Last time I was quite impressed with James Genus work on Slings and Arrows -- what a driving and cohesion power on his walking bass!

Probablemente el mejor jazz acústico que he escuchado, por lo menos para mi gusto, no se podía esperar menos de un proyecto encabezado por mi sax tenorista favorito de todos los tiempos.Genus, Calderazzo y Tain Watts excelsos. Gracias por compartir.
I thought they went in a time machine back to the 1950's and put the snatch on Horace Silver so he could play this gig...

Calderazzo is a god. Calderazzo Slings solo here, should be put on the next Space traveller Capsule. So if it finally reaches other forms of intelligence, they can appreciate what human earth music expression was capable off. As far as jazz zenith. Improvisation representation doesn't get better than this.
