I’d love your comment if I could. Whole wedding parties plus all their guests sing this song melodramatically on the dance floor. Every Halloween and New Years Party I’ve been to has at least one portion of the night where BoRhap takes over. A group of friends and I did a lip synch air band (w/sets and costumes) contest to BoRhap (& won 🥇 prize). Awesome road trip song. The operatic sections are amazing played over a remote forest lake early in the morning and under the stars at night. Olympic skaters skate to it and when the Olympics come to London, Queen performs it in their opening ceremonies. And don’t forget the movie of the same name that came out just a few years ago.

The was no autotune back then. These men actually hit those high and low notes. Freddie Mercury, RIP, was classically trained with his voice. Welcome to QUEEN...this was actually 3 songs Freddie was working on but decided to combine them that gives you bohemian rhapsody...Queen is Freddie Mercury-piano/vocals, Brian May-guitar/vocals, Roger Taylor-drums/vocals, John Deacon-bass/some back vocals...all four wrote, you can not box Queen into one genre of music, they've done it all...STONE COLD CRAZY live at the Rainbow, an early tune, fast..DON'T STOP ME NOW, another great one..Queen's music is used in commercials, movies, t.v.shows, sports...WE WILL ROCK YOU and WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS are just two...ANOTHER ONE BITES THE DUST...many artists in hip hop, rap, pop, rock have sampled Queen...

Please do Queen Somebody To Love live in Montreal! Not everyone gets Bohemian Rhapsody. And that’s ok. But this is just one song of theirs. Their sound is unmatched by any other band in history. I’m sure you’ve heard at least a couple of their songs…. We Will Rock You, We Are The Champions, Another one Bites The Dust? Freddie Mercury (lead singer) has the best voice. The Queen catalog is so unique. Each song has a different sound. The band also includes Brian May on guitar, Roger Taylor on drums, and John Deacon on bass. Each person in the band bring their own unique talent to every song they do. PLEASE give them another chance. You won’t regret it!

That’s really what a musical Rhapsody is, a piece of music of indeterminate length and with no formal structure, comprised of a number of different musical ideas. A Rhapsody is all about dynamics: light and shade, high and low, loud and soft, happy and sad… It’s a story, a journey and usually quite the musical ride. ❤❤❤

Probably what made Queen music so unique is that all four members were educated, professional musicians and all wrote hit songs which made them diverse and unique from other bands at the time. Bo Rap was and always will be a masterpiece. I miss hearing thought provoking lyrics and music that changes, surprising the listeners and tell a story.

This song is a metaphor. Freddie was coming out at this time of his life and he was struggling to cope with his sexuality. He refers to killing a man, and apologizing to his mother, but what this really means is that he feels like he's killed his old self and he's trying to explain that to his mother and apologize for that. He's trying to "leave you all behind and face the truth", which is his way of saying, I'm not the man everyone thinks I am and I'm not the man I used to be, I'm coming out and going to face the truth. The song gets more complicated in the operatic verse where he talks about the devil and Beelzebub (another name for Satan and one of seven demons of hell, who represents gluttony and envy) and asking them to "let me go" "NO!! We will not let you go". Again, Freddie's way of realizing and expressing in a song that his sexuality (as it was seen in those days) was going to send him to hell. The music, the theatricality, the technical genius and the production is second to none. The other significant element of this song, is the video. This was the first video of it's kind - no other band had ever made a single "movie" to promote a song or an album before this. This was ground breaking and led to every other band on the planet attempting to replicate this process and reap the rewards. This video and others that followed led to the creation of MTV and VH-1 and an entire industry to promote music, beyond just the albums themselves.

I usually don't believe it when people say they've never heard this before because... how can you NOT? But this was legit. Which makes it fun for us! I got the LP "Night at the Opera" when I was 11 in 1975 (my parents thought it was opera for kids), and I played this and several other tracks until I wore them thin. I recently told my 11 year old grandson that knowing BoRhap from top to bottom is one of the necessary skills in life, and then my daughter and I proceeded to sing the entire thing word-for-word (including guitar solos). There are videos of 60,000+ people doing the same. Queen has hits in most genres, so if this wasn't your bag, it's worth it to keep going.
@owlshollow95992 жыл бұрын
The most awesome singing of Bohemian Rhapsody, other than Queen of course came in 2017 when 65,000 Green Day concert goers in the UK sang the entire 6 minute song together not messing up at all while waiting on Green Day to start. There is a video of it on here. The fact that Bohemian Rhapsody came out in 1975 and 42 years later 65,000 random people knew ALL the lyrics to it speaks for the rock opera's popularity, and longevity. I imagine some of those people were not born yet when the song came out. Queen and Freddie Mercury are still the best! RIP Freddie.

The first produced music video in 1975. Shocked a lot of us back then too. Up till then the only "music videos" were clips of tv shows or live concerts. I still say this is where Mike Nesmith of The Monkees got the idea for MTV.

Love this reaction bearing in mind this doesn't seem to be your normal music genre. This was Queens breakthrough song after another didn't make it. They felt they had to take a chance and put something out that no-one had heard before. A UK DJ, Kenny Everitt, played it on his station (despite being told not to because it exceeded the normal 3 minute slot for songs) and the rest is history. Queen became one of the most famous rock bands in the world and is listened to all over the world ever since. If you want to listen one of the best live sets ever I'd recommend Queen at LIve Aid 1985 - a mega charity concert spanning both UK and the USA.

Put this in context.. Other than 10CC no one was doing this multi tracking. This is the song that brought innovation in music techniques. It also created Music Videos as they couldn't do the middle section for the Top of the Pops programme so filmed a "video". The length made it not acceptable for radio until the public got it before the music industry. This song opened the door for musicians to let their minds explore and push boundaries. Yet 50 years later, music is..????

Bohemian Rhapsody is in essence an entire (early) Queen album squeezed into a single song. They didn't make "concept albums", where one song naturally led the listner to the next. With Queen, you go from hard rock to vaudeville to ballad to pop ... All their songs were very different (but most of them also distinctly Queen) - and this song is, basically, four short songs glued together into a single long one.

I take all 5 segments as one story 1) of a care-free kid who got seduced into murder by a girl in a gang or something. He feels they will kill him, 2) he is so sorry and cries out to his mom. He doesn't want to die, but sometimes wishes he was never born. 3) He wants free from the gang - let him go! NO, NO, NO, NO,, NO, NO!!!! We will not let you go! 4) So then he's pissed at the girl and feels, "You can't do this to me baby." 5) But in the end he is resigned, "Noting matters anyway."
