@@kwashingtonl agreed! I saw them in concert in 1988. I thought they rocked. I was stunned to stand there as they got booed off the stage. They opened for Metallica injustice for all tour, which was excellent in it's own right. But still can't believe that it went down like that!

@@MrSatyre1those of us who saw them get booed off the Metallica tour will never believe they aren’t underrated 🤷🏻‍♀️ The whole Operation:Mindcrime album is an incredible work. I feel like Queensryche didn’t fit into a distinct genre which, at the time, made it hard to get airplay. Except for Silent Lucidity, of course.

Yeah, Buddy...!!! You haven't heard anything like Queensryche, yet. Geoff Tate is a Top 5 vocalist of any genre, IMO. The dueling harmonization of the guitars, the heartbeat and hammer of the bass and drums. And, the production value and engineering of their recordings are truly on another level. We're talking about being on a Boston, Chicago, Pink Floyd, Steely Dan, RUSH and Fleetwood Mac level. And, to date Operation Mindcrime is front to back my 1a, b or c favorite album made. Love your passion brother. F the haters, and keep doing what you do. While continuing to grow yourself! Your soul is smiling... 🙏🏻

I am so sorry that you have lost both of your parents. I was a daddy’s girl all of my life, I loved him more than anyone else until I had my son when I was 30. He died in December 2022 in another state in Australia and our stepmother didn’t even tell us where his body was. I was 62 and waking in the night sobbing for him as though I was 5yrs old again. Broke my heart. My mum is still here, lives nearby and is 87 1/2 and doing so well. I was the last one in my friend group from high school to still have both parents until I lost my darling dad.

Every musician in this band is top shelf. This album is more of a “mood” than their previous stuff but it’s really f*cking good. The album before this is “Operation: Mindcrime”, and it’s similar to a rock opera in that to fully appreciate each song you need to listen from beginning to end because it tells a story. I love “Empire”, but Mindcrime in my old ass humble opinion is possibly one of the best albums ever made- all joking aside.

Quote: "Written by Queensrÿche guitarist Chris DeGarmo (who left the band in 1998), this is a song that deals with a person having a lucid dream. A lucid dream happens when you are aware that you are dreaming, and can control parts of it. DeGarmo got the idea from a book called Creative Dreaming, which explains how to tap into your subconscious mind and make like Leonardo DiCaprio in Inception."

Metallica - Enter Sandman Nirvana - Smells Like Teen Spirit Pearl Jam - Alive Red Hot Chili Peppers - Give it Away Alice in Chains - Man in the Box Extreme - More than Words The Scorpions - Winds of Change Guns N Roses - You Could Be Mine Stevie Ray Vaughn - The Sky is Crying I mean, seriously.....just throw a dart at the Billboard Top 40 and you get incredible tunes.

Oh, Queensryche! So many brilliant songs! What a voice! This song has a special place in my heart. Also if you want to treat yourself to some incredible music listen to the album Operation Mindcrime, one of my favourites of all time. It's a concept album, so it makes the most sense to listen to it from beginning to end.

Please don't give up on the band after one track, even though you said you loved this one, there's way more to come! As another commenter here said, please play the entirety of their standout album "Operation Mindcrime" from start to finish to fully appreciate them. My favourite from that album is "Suite Sister Mary" which is an epic track.

This is one of those songs that’s embedded in my soul. It’s so beautiful and has changed in meaning for me over the years so many times, most recently when my mother (who loved this song) passed away. Now when I hear it I feel like it’s her reminding me she’s still watching over me.❤ And please do more. It’s not a one off, but it is a very unique song of theirs. They are metal, but they have another song called “Another Rainy Night” that would be a really great bridge from this into their heavier stuff.

Operation mindcrime and Empire are two truly stunning albums of theirs. The late 80's to early 90's saw Queensryche as one of the biggest bands in rock, regarded as 'The thinking man's rock band'.

Dude! Your reaction is so genuine. Even when you backed it up to hear a second time. Enjoyed the hell out of it. And just so you know, the vocalist is regarded as one of the best rock vocalists of all time.

What makes you so precious to me as an older 55 yr old female…is your facial expressions…they are the same ones that we all had in the 80s and 90s when first hearing all these songs. You validate our experience all those years ago…it makes you the perfect reactor…and so we return and watch. Thank you MB!

This is from their album, "Empire", which I consider to be one of the few "perfect" albums I've ever heard. Every song is great, talent is top-notch, and the audio production is superb.

Yes!! Been waiting for this one! This is an atypical Queensryche song, but absolutely beautiful and one of my favorites. Geoff Tate is widely considered to be one of the all time great singers with an incredible range. This song gets me in the feels every time. The lyrics, the voice, the guitar, the violins. Like you said, it's magical, and it has a lullaby quality to it. Another great song that really showcases Geoff's unbelievable voice is the unplugged version of "I Will Remember". And like many others here have said, the album Operation Mindcrime is a must listen....the WHOLE thing. It's a brilliant concept album that tells a story. P.S. I forgot to mention....this song is so amazing and sounds so good that some people thought it was Pink Floyd when they first heard it!

Queensryche is definitely heavy metal. To get the true range of Geoff's voice, you need to listen to Take Hold of the Flame. This at the end of their concert and he was still shattering glass. Operation Mindcrime is a brilliant concept album.
