Hip Hop / Trap Mastering with Ozone 9 Elements // Fast and FREE

In todays video I'm showing that you don't need a really complex mastering chains with 10+ plugins. You can have a decent master by using just Ozone 9 Elements that has only 3 modules ( EQ + Imager + Maximizer ). With the use of the equalizer you can balance the track, enhance the stereo width with the imager and get your song loud with the maximizer ( limiter ).
I'm showcasing the full process of mastering a hip hop / trap song.

This guys a genius. I’m watching most of his videos to learn new things on mixing. You know we artists have been forced to learn it during lockdown. My vocals sound different thanks to him. How do you stop hearing DSP issues in studio one 5? Im noticing scratches sound on my headphone. I don’t know if it’s because the vocal chain from helpmedevvon is too long. Ive had to tweak it with the things you’ve taught me. Please let me know as this is slowing down my mixing as I can’t quite hear through all the scatching sound.

Hey guys youtube and spotify says the loudness of the audio should be around -14 lufs. Should i have it that way or -9 lufs is a good overall loudness level ?

It depends, -9 -10 is a good middle ground for having a loud master without being punished hard by the streaming platforms. Cheers

Why u keep LUFS at -9dbs? Streaming services wants generally -14

Your client should be sending his/her tracks to DJs and other sources.. make sure your sound is good&loud no matter where it’s being played

You actually want your master above -14 if it gets too quiet you risk running your track into streaming service limiters, and extra loudness can also still have a gluing effect, if you listen to professional records they dont care about -14 lufs they still master to -11 and above even as high as -5 lufs

-9 is a good compromise between loudess and letting the track breathe
