And there are tons of artists like him just going with the flow, not much regard for creativity. The new album was very mid, everyone knows that. But people who say his career is over or that the “experiment failed” are overreacting. Plenty of rappers/artists have had sophomore slumps that they bounced back from. Even “corny” rappers like big Sean still had commercial hits and well-received albums after their sophomore slumps. Real fans of Jack know he has the capability to make solid projects like Loose and Confetti. If he can tap back into the energy of those projects then I think he’ll be fine. Either way, his personality is gonna keep him in some form of entertainment industry/the public eye for a while. But who knows, maybe he’ll fade into white boy obscurity like G-Eazy. I see the Jack Harlow push the same way I saw the Macklemore push back in 2012-14. He did SNL, multiple magazine covers, was a XXL Freshman, and had major accolades with awards and the charts. The difference between Macklemore and Harlow, however, is that people still find him as a good artist who has potential and was able to keep their head up after hitting a slump with their fans. I think Jack Harlow’s gonna grow with his fans instead of his fans outgrowing him, but only time will tell.

U look at guys like jack and wonder if hes actually not a bad guy then well shit i dont ever have to worry about hearing about him over dosing, or falling off bc of mentals, or some sex/bs scandal getting him cancelled...not a fan of his music....but i "could" be one day if he makes something i like and keeps at it. IDK its just like you go HUMM was AKON/FLO RIDA/T-PAIN so "DOPE" back then bc it was a different time...or were they just being PUMPED bc their product was palatable to the "WHITES". I mean Theres white girls that turn up to WAP/Jack harlow...and some that can turn up to afro puffs...and the SHEER amount/difference between the 2...is obvious or else wed have A hell of a lot more "less" attractive looking women pumping out crass/brute raps to this day. I think he had the same issue as Saweetie being that their looks/personality/social media presence overshadowed their music career. Jack is a talented rapper no doubt but most people bought into him through Tiktok with “What’s Poppin’”. The difference between him and Drake is that Drake in his earlier days cultivated a unique sound with 40 and Boi-1da that helped separate him from other popular rappers. He also sung and delved into issues not many rappers were open to talking about. Drake was able to carve out his own lane early on. Even though Drake’s music now is horribly mediocre, he still has classic projects and songs so he’s able to get a pass with putting out mid music. Jack unfortunately doesn’t have that pass. He still needs to establish his sound and voice. But he’s young so hopefully he’ll figure out his artistic lane.

*Jack is an enigma.* His music is like white noise ( no pun intended lol), loud and flashy enough to occasionally perk up your ear, but so droning and uninteresting that you can cook dinner, clean the house and do your math homework while it buzzes in the background. I personally leave each JH song feeling unmoved, but occasionally entertained. His likeability and his magnetic personality has been and continues to be his greatest strength as an artist. He is talented, no doubt, but it's becoming increasingly obvious that that's not what won him the favor with music industry. The push from the highest rungs of the industry and his social media clout created a double-edge sword, boosting his profile as an MC, even though he'd never be able to match the hype generated. *CHTKMY* was him aping his idols and recycling the same ol' same ol', occasionally great, but mostly passable and sometimes unspeakably bad. However, he has alot of drive and optimism so I won't count him out..yet.

I think Jack has changed a lot since Come Home the Kids Miss you, he has transitioned from trying to be the next Drake making Rap/Pop music that gets a lot of radioplay-to being his own person making music which he is happy with and isnt going for streams or radioplay. This is shown by his album JACKMAN which contains only 10 songs (not many commercially successful albums have a low number of tracks on) , doesnt include a hit song and was released with no real build up or social media content before the album. In the 10 songs he raps about himself, his worries and topics that he finds prevalent to him. The album really gives a 360 view of Jack and in my opinion contains some masterpieces in. An example of this would be the track Common Ground, where Jack raps about the social and economic divide between black and white people where he grew up and how white people picked up some of the black slang and way of life, although coming from a safe and economically secure backround

Truth be told I think most of the takes against Jack are coming from a place of defiance rather than actually solidified opinions. This album was for sure mid but it’s as if every person feels the need to put a spin on their opinion on him so the takes just become inflammatory and unreasonable. You’re always going to have the dusty dudes who call it fuckboi music and find their reason. You’re always going to have the people who just started hearing from him so think he’s an industry plant. Jack has to come out with a few BANGER singles quick to get the focus back on the right track. Get away from wooing the ladies with this abstract light stuff and come with some heavy 808s and a bravado in his lyrics that make people take notice. If the chatter is there that he could be "the next drake" he needs to be assertive and grab that sh*t. Follow that up with a concept album that sticks to a theme throughout and release a short film to go with it. An undercover cop in 80s Miami with synthesizer heavy throwback beats - he rocks aviators and a mustache in the short film... or a Blade Runner/Tron futuristic bounty hunter with drawn out chords - he rocks a leather duster with Neo shades in the short film. Expand the offering to the masses and morph his game into something new.

People dont understand where he came from, guys dont know why all the girls love him, rappers dont know why the industry loves him, so people get jealous as fuck. He gets push online and in social media cause he's carismatic as fuck, and while that works to entertain a certain audience, it also helps to grow a big audience of people waiting to judge him and call him "overhyped". A lot of this backlash comes from resentment: "Why these bitches like him so much hes ugly and skinny, why is he hanging w drake he just popped on the scene, why does he get so much push if he's white". It could've been way better, but I just label this as a basic artist who's got hype out this world. Let him ride the wave and let him crash sometime in the future. I won't be shocked if he eventually becomes a topic we used to talk about. Great vid man.

jack has never ending talent, some of the greats drop mid second albums this just wasn’t his sound. that’s what they all say is a phenomenal album and he’ll definitely be back and better than ever that’s a promise

The fact he is so new and people put him to such a high standard says a lot. His music is good, not the best but not everyone can be the best.

Failed ?? He's still more popular than this channel... And his next album better or worse will still get the same push. So where's the fail?

Sophomore slump, he definitely has it in him to truly deliver a classic. Take some time off and find himself. Confetti was proof that he belongs in the arena despite what Pitchfork had to say. One of the worst promotional takes for this album was him talking about how he wanted to be this generation's Eminem and that he needed to start coming with harder hitting tracks and then he dropped the "Glamorous" single and completely undelivered with that and the rest of this album.

I'm going to be completely honest here.. but people are being way too fucking hard on this guy. I mean, the album wasn't the AOTY but it was a lot better than people are making it out to be, ffs. It is far from a flop. I feel like people didn't like this dude from the start but couldn't say anything because his likeability and his extremely large and loyal fanbase. Now those guys are just finally starting to unleash on this so called 'white boy', claiming they didn't like him from the start. Saying this dude makes "f*boy music" is just pure jealousy and frankly just plain cringe. Also the reason people liked him is because his laid back flow and told him to never change.. and now people are hating on his new album because he did those exact things..Makes no fucking sense. They shoot you up to the top, only to bring you down afterwards.. I honestly feel for the guy

Eh, while I agree this album is massively overhated, it is mid compared to his previous albums. Sundown was better than everything on this album.
@kingutopus79412 жыл бұрын
@@waynesmith7746 I agree with you guys. The album is definiately mid but I'm just saying that I feel like people are starting to hate on him as a person by using his new music as an excuse. They're simply going too hard on him for the sake of it.

Yeah, that's what I see as funny. The "f$&+ boy music" thing, was his appeal, and what made him. Now he's being actively sabotaged by the same industry/ppl, that hyped it. After all the shit about Drake "using" young talent, that "leak" , was definately used, to derail Harlow, and keep Drake, in his spot.

The fact that anyone was ignorant enough to think that he was gonna sell more than bad bunny is just funny to me

I can tell Harlow is at a bit of a writer’s block. He’s been at it for 10 years. He just caught on 2 years ago. With 4 charting songs. I say give him some time to come in swinging again yk?

He has to do a kendrick and live life.

@@nonyabusiness2032 is he at the place in his career that he can pull a Kendrick though.
@nonyabusiness20322 жыл бұрын
@@jocelyncooper1738 yea, if his core fans happen to agree with mainstream fans that Harlow is getting sloppy or whatever. Writers block is serious. He can be making the same type of music, but say something different. A different perspective. The reason 2pac is great is because he got to tell other people's stories that he either knew personally or read on newspapers ( Brenda's got a baby) 50 cent tells hood stories some times but when he spits serious topics like "the funeral" he pulls you into the hood. Harlow has reached his peak. He's famous. Top of the charts...It only goes down from there. He's made it and hes getting comfortable. I recommend he acts in a movie meanwhile he figures out his craft for his next project. That way he stays relevant for a while. He could drop a freestyle, disappear and he'll still be on the radar. Depending how well he plays the industry.

People acting like jack hasn’t put out a good album which isn’t putting enough respect on his name. He just rushed an album doesn’t mean he should be shunned when he’ll put out a good song in a couple months at most
