I think I would like to visit the castle. We like museums. The view right before you notice the koi fish was really beautiful. And the part at the very end. I hope we can see that garden someday.

What a beautiful, beautiful garden and it's over 400 years old! America is bearly half that age. Thank you for a lovely walk in the rain. And, yes, it did look like a river❤❤
@frankrivera46253 жыл бұрын
America is south and north and even the Caribbean. And many of those places are older then 400 years old as settled by the European. But if we go even further it is even older then 400 years old. I'm sure you were referring to only the original US colonies.
@debrab.28883 жыл бұрын
@Frank R. Yes, I was. The land that we call America doesn't have any known heritage features except for our national parks that goes back 400 years. Native Americans heritage sites were wiped out doing the colonization. It's those types of heritage sites when I made that statement, which in hindsight was poorly phase.
@catherinebond74743 жыл бұрын
@@debrab.2888 And you are still wrong because 1. Native cultures still exist and even many structures. 2. Permanent European settlements go back to 1565 - St. Augustine.

Peonies r a perennial flowering shrub. The flower only lasts about 7 days in the spring. But the plant looks nice throughout the summer. Beautiful looking & the scent is used in perfumes

Am planning on coming back to Hiroshima ... so this rain walk was fabulous. I have never been to the castle or garden, so now I have 2 things to see. Love walking with you, camera forward so we can see where we are going, and your comments. Do worry about your health ... physical and mental. Follow science / nutrition / medics ... well rounded eating plan, daily exercise ... don't deprive but don't over do either. Take care.

Shinichi, this is one of your best videos! I really enjoyed seeing Hiroshima Castle in the rain. We went there 3 years ago in April but it was a beautiful clear sunny day. It was good then and also looks very good in the rain. They have a the tree in the castle grounds which survived the Atomic bomb. It was able to regrow from a blackened stump, just like the city itself. I am sorry to say that we did not go to Shukkeien garden. I didn't know about it. I will definitely go there if I get back to Hiroshima again. That garden has to be one of the best in Japan. Like Nagasaki, if I get back to Hiroshima, I will be thinking of this video. Thanks so much for sharing this with everyone.

Fish actually do have moderately good eyesight, but not enough brain power to process what they're seeing! However, since it looks like those koi are used to being fed, they know to look up at the bridge edge in anticipation of bread crumbs or whatever else people may toss down there. Koi are actually quite intelligent and adaptable. The moss you saw was beautifully green and healthy! I bet it was very soft. That's actually a sign of clean air. Peonies are the state flower of the state where I live, Indiana! They're very pretty. Thank you for taking us to this beautiful castle and garden!! I hope you enjoyed your day and the fish/moss/flower facts! 😂

When I visited Hiroshima, I also walked through that tunnel to get to Hiroshima Castle and the Art Museum. Coincidentally, it was also pouring rain the day I went too! I ended up in the tunnel crossing because, I too, discovered that you can't actually cross to the other side at street level.

My husband bought one of those clear umbrellas from a convenience store. He loved it. Unfortunately someone stole it after we came back home. He'll definitely buy one or two when we go back to Japan. Proper shoes are important! I remember another video of yours when you were up in the mountains and you commented that you should have worn another pair of shoes :D Glad you're making it a point to stay safe!

Shukkeien is great... as you walk around, it opens up new vistas around every corner and it seems expansive, although it actually has quite a small footprint. The theme is that each area of the garden tries to capture a different area of Japan's landscapes. Super recommended. Also, I'd highly recommend a visit to Mitaki Temple outside the city, another beautiful place mostly devoid of tourists.

Hi Shinichi! Hiroshima looks so scenic in the rain. I think I've been there 3 times but always stopping by the Atomic dome and Miyajima so never really visited the castle. I just watched you and Satoshi tasting Korean snacks in another vdo and was wondering if you have lost weight, so I'm confirmed in this vdo! I'm also practicing IF and trying to eat just two meals a day. I know what you mean about the conflicting feelings about wanting to taste the local cuisines when traveling but at the same time not wanting to put excessive calories into the body. I feel the same every time I go to the market especially now that many small shops and street vendors are struggling and I really want to support them but don't want to eat. 😂
