yes, hes a huge dick. This is an april fools day video trying to paint Garrosh in a good light by fudging the facts in his favor a little and completely ignoring all the really bad things he did, which there are quite a bit. More than enough to make another video called "Garrosh did everything wrong and is a huge hypocritical asshole and that's what makes him a wonderful villain". No one reads the video descriptions anyway, so for those few who do, and are reading this, have fun reading the comments of all the people who take this seriously. Since I did make this video as serious as possible. Also that ending sequence was great if I do say so myself. I made the video myself and even I start feeling sorry for Garrosh in that fight sequence.
But, to reiterate, this is an april fools day video. Garrosh is a giant asshole who can't be redeemed, that was the whole point of the Warcrimes novel. I lightly altered some of the facts to make Garrosh look more sympathetic. I heavily downplayed the bad things he did that I couldn't get away with ignoring, like the bombing of Theramore. This video isn't trying to make a point or anything, its made simply to fool people into thinking Garrosh isn't such a bad guy, since its an April fools day video.

Thrall is not his father, nor his therapist. He was not obliged to stick around, he has his own life and his own struggles to handle. Garrosh is crybaby, guilt tripping Thrall over his selfish desires. So, there is no "feels" here. Apart from self-deception, that is.

It's an outrage that Thrall purposely gave him an impossible task, knowing full well that he would fail it, a task that even Thrall himself or Cairne would have extreme difficulty with at the time due to all the concurrent crises, and allowing him to take the full blame for it. Thrall left him as a mentor. He feels thrown under the bus by someone that he, at one time, wanted to follow in the footsteps of. And he has every right to feel that way, especially since the entirety of the Horde leadership (and even Garrosh himself) heavily advised Thrall that choosing Garrosh was not a good idea. He disregarded unanimous logic in favor of someone he knew was unequipped for the job. You should read or audiobook War Crimes by Christie Golden. It's a very good read, and it tells you everything that was kept hidden. Your jaw will drop when you hear the whole story, and I have little doubt that you will change how you feel about this.

Neku Sakuyaraba Mak'gora forbids the use of multiple weapons. Thrall used the Doomhammer as well as ALL of the elements during his fight, which unfairly overpowered Garrosh. Mak'gora is a test of strength not of cunning. Also the elements were NOT okay with Thrall killing Garrosh in cold blood. Garrosh already faced his trial and was judged to be set free by the Pandarian spirits.

People overlook some of the justifications for Theramore. I get how you can say that destroying an entire city is never justified, but you probably had to play both pre- and post-Cataclysm to understand what was happening in the world at that time. In vanilla and the first two expansions, Theramore was a relatively large, well-fortified Alliance city, pretty close to the Horde heartlands and capitol. But despite this, it was a city built on an island just off the edge of a tiny peninsula in a barely habitable swampland with only a narrow, barely-used and decrepit path leading all the way across the whole zone in a roundabout way, surrounded by maneating crocodiles on all sides, into the Barrens. Even for adventurers, getting FROM Theramore TO Horde territory was an adventure in itself. Post-Cataclysm, the Alliance all but ignored that narrow dirt path, because it had built an enormous, paved superhighway STRAIGHT through the center of the swamp, wide enough for armies and siege engines to make a beeline directly into the Barrens. And they did. The Southern Barrens by this point had become a hot warzone, with Alliance and Horde in direct, constant conflict, cities being burned, catapults and ballista trading fire without end. At this point, Theramore represented an actively hostile enemy engaged in open war with the Horde on the Horde's own doorstep, within very short distance of the gates of both Mulgore and Orgrimmar, and they had shown they were intent on expanding and capable of building the infrastructure and armies to do so. Garrosh didn't go north and bomb the night elven homelands or burn Teldrassil to the ground. He didn't raze Stormwind or Ironforge. He took out, in the most effective way possible, the most important military and transportation hub of an enemy he was actively at war with. I say this as someone who has played Alliance since day 1 of release and never leveled a horde character above level 30, outside of a single free boost I used once after preordering an expansion.

If we looking in Lore, Garrosh did nothing wrong. Alliance power growth day by day, they population its to high, if Garrosh not take action Horde will overrun by Alliance. Varian even said one fleet have 200 ships, just one fleet, not about another fleet, Alliance nowdays never do real allout war like Second war, the first time they calls some farmes was in BFA, its only because majority formal solider in Arathi,Silverpine,Plaguelands,and Southshores even Trisifal. As a Leader Garrosh known it, he must take Kalimdor for the Horde. From Theramore Alliance have scouting the region, and alliance build more camp in Kalimdor, with Alliance trying set their foothold, Horde must act fast.

Theramore bombing was clean👍🏾 I agree with and felt the exact same. Also I have 2 horde alts the highest is level 18 after 6 years. FTA but theramore was a clean strategic move. I feel like Garrosh was the sole reason why Thrall abandoned the Horde. A splitting image of his father Grom who also did what he did for what he assumed to be the best interest of the Horde, failed them both. He realized he really isn't fit to lead the Horde, maybe the Horde was long crumbling because it wasn't able to co exist with the Alliance. Saurfang convinced Thrall to lead again because he knows that Thrall can keep the Horde on Azeroth the longest, even if it means he has to be working with the Alliance, their enemy.

What's great is that the Mag'har Orc recruitment questline acknowledges that in most timelines Garrosh Hellscream was a phenomenal leader and in some one of the best Warchiefs the Horde has ever had. This timeline just happens to have gotten one of his worst incarnations. So it is actually 100% officially canon now that, regardless of what you think about the one we got, somewhere out there Garrosh really did do nothing wrong.

Honestly I blame Thrall for Garrosh. Yeah, Garrosh was far from a saint, but he admitted that. He knew he couldn't be trusted with power but Thrall thrust it upon him anyway. When Garrosh says "You made me what I am" he's right. Maybe not 100% right, but Thrall definitely had a major hand in it. Garrosh made bad choices, and hell he was a downright monster at times, but that monster would never have been given the chance to hurt people had Thrall not unleashed him. What's truly sad is that Garrosh could have been so much more. He could have been the hero the Horde needed. The Warchief to lead the Horde into a prosperous age. I think Thrall sensed that, but he put too much faith in a young Garrosh. I will always believe Garrosh could have been a great leader, but he was given too much power far too soon and in a time of extreme crisis. All of that culminated in a perfect storm to turn him into what he became.

The Alliance knew theramore would be at risk of attack considering they were fighting in that region months before Garrosh bombed it, and yet they kept civilians there. The only ones who found it Atrocious were the Alliance, only to use it as Propaganda. The Horde didn't like Garrosh because they didn't know the full story, Garrosh is not a bad leader. He fought for the Horde, and he gained the Horde massive victories. And also, in a war of that scale between the Horde and Alliance civilian casualties are expected. The Horde lost many Civilians due to Alliance attacks as well, and nobody bats a fucking eye to that? No, because it's the Alliance and NOTHING they do is evvvvvveeer wrong *Sarcasm*. In fact, the Alliance attacked an entire horde town full of civilians in the Barrens, I forgot its name, and yet nobody cares. Civilian deaths are inevitable in a war like this. Garrosh didn't purposely kill the Civilians in Theramore, Theramore was a major forward operating base for the Alliance in Kalimdor, it was a Military instillation. Not a place meant for wounded, or most cilivians. It was a military and naval base for the Alliance. A target that does not go against anything In the real world even though I doubt anything we use applies in WoW.

I think Garosh's last line is meant to mirror what Blackmoore said before he died. When Blackmoore was killed by Thrall, he told him that he made him what he was, when Garosh was killed by Thrall, he told him that he made him what he was. Warcraft has a way to create villains who are at the same time both people who had the best intentions and fell to corruption and totally unforgiveable.

This video convinced me of some of my reservations I had about Thrall. Thrall was never a true Orc in terms of both his idea and understanding of Orc society, and absolutely rejected the true meaning of what it meant to be an Orc in Azeroth. I always found his idealization of Ogrim Doomhammer to be at odds with his personality. Doomhammer was a bloodthirsty monster who had no problems killing other Orcs who disobeyed him, abandoning Zul'Jin and the trolls, enslaving Ogres to fight for him, and using black magic to conquer and genocide other races. Thrall believed him to be this noble Orc worth naming a city after and derive authority from, creating a false image of Doomhammer in his mind and Orc society full of wise, noble leaders who were merely tricked by demons. When he places Garrosh in charge of the Horde, a pure uncorrupted Orc, his rule is similar to that of Blackhand's and closer to Doomhammer than Thrall would ever be. Thrall is unable to cope with the idea that the Orcish people were more like Garrosh than himself, and the fake image he had of Orc society. The harsh reality of this caused Thrall to want to murder Garrosh, a representation of what he was told Orcs were like but refused to believe.

5 years later and I can’t disagree with this. Part of me knew after Thrall had basically stopped Garrosh from doing everything he was trying to do or suggested pre-war chief that even Garrosh knew he would do things differently than Thrall. Thrall projected his hopes on what Garrosh could be and when Thrall was wrong was so ashamed that he couldn’t even come to terms with the fact that he should have known. Hope in someone an honorable thing, but at the same time misplaced hope is dangerous.

Thrall wanted Garrosh to be the pure embodiment of a pre-blood tasting Orc but with his greatest friend's genetics. He thought Garrosh would be a axe wielding shaman. When Garrosh not only proved that Thrall's notions of "The Orcs of the past were utopian" and that Thrall's pacifism was holding the Horde back, that's probably where all his shame came from. Thrall assumed that Orcs like himself were the rule if it weren't for Mannorath, but in reality Orcs like Garrosh were the rule and Thrall was the exception. Thrall wanting to kill Garrosh is due to Thrall hating his true Orcish heritage, and Garrosh is a manifestation of that.

@@CPNTT Considering Castle Nathria is in SH, way after Legion and the ToS fiasco, I would say Blizz learned their lesson and balanced in time I don't know about the war campaign, as a horde player I hate how we have to be the aggressors every time (that's the only reason it's more interesting, really). Arguing that Alliance has the shittiest allied races is very stupid. I could say the same about Horde allied races to make a point but it would be equally stupid. We both got recolored/modelled variands of already existing races, apart from the Vulpera. Kul'tirans are equivalent to zandalari trolls, lightforged draenei are equivalent to highmountain taurens. Nightborne are basically night elves with magic, while void elves are basically blood elves with void magic. Mag'har orcs and Dark Iron dwarves are equivalent. Mecha gnomes and Vulpera are the only real difference, but hey, you got a titan construct race, so I don't think Vulpera are significantly better. Again, spotlight just means ,,Horde attacks". BfA did that, and that's it (out of all the raids, only one is focused on faction conflict). Shadowlands is not focusing on any faction (but a villain used to be horde, so I guess that is a spotlight somehow?) Prominent lore caracters are found on both sides. In Legion the Horde had some Sylvanas focus on the storm peaks, Tauren in Highmountain, Nightborne in Suramar (before either of these were horde races, mind you). But the Allience had night elf focus with Val'sharah (a bit in Suramar too), the emerald dream, Turallion, Alleria, Velen on Argus. Also Maiev, and Illidan, but that is ancient history. WoD was pretty Horde focused. I'm sad that a lot of content was cut, I think the Draenei could've been shown more.

Even if this is April Fools, this really changed my view on Garrosh as a whole and on Thrall. This kind of slapped sense into me to remember that Thrall isn't entirely good and Garrosh isn't entirely bad. To be honest, Garrosh did a lot of bad things, but they all happened BECAUSE someone else started that path. Rushed thinking lead Garrosh to killing the Tauren leader, thus causing the trolls to hate him. Sylvanus is doing some messed up stuff and Garrosh sees that and says it's bad. Sylvanus thus hates him. All the major Horde leaders hate Garrosh for misguided or selfish reasons. Thrall returns and sees Garrosh's shitstorm and then kills him. Great.

Thrall completely fucked up by killing Garrosh, it wasn't his place to execute him mercilessly. Honestly what should have happened at the end of Nagrand is Thrall should have fought Garrosh not to the death but to capture him and bring him back to serve his sentence in Azeroth. And think about it, with everything that happened in the legendary ring questline and patch 6.2, Blizzard missed a perfect chance for a redemption story for him. Let's say that at the end of the Mak'gora, Thrall captures Garrosh and maybe gets Khadgar to put him in an arcane prison so that he can't escape, however Gorehowl went missing after Garrosh threw it at Thrall (or they all just forgot about it). We do the legendary questline and get to the cinematic where we find out Gul'dan obtained it and brought it to Grom to show that his son failed and then Kilrogg and his forces drink the demon blood while Gul'dan has Grom restricted from moving with his fel magic. Then 6.2 arrives and Gul'dan sets up HFC (which keep in mind that Garrosh was behind its construction in this timeline). At this point, Garrosh learns that his people succumbed to the blood curse like they did in the original timeline, the very thing that Garrosh was trying to prevent in alternate Draenor. He then gives us vital information about HFC like its layout and weak spots in the structure which prepares us better and then we begin our assault there. Or maybe he escapes to try and stop Gul'dan and save his people on his own, either possibility could work. Now here's the part where it could have gotten interesting. We go into HFC, kick a bunch of demon and fel orc ass and release Grom from Fel Lord Zakuun's prison where Grom tells us to leave him. We beat the next two bosses and then Gul'dan pulls out his master plan by summoning Archimonde. We engage Archimonde and get help from Yrel, Grom and Khadgar. However towards the end of the fight, Archimonde does something like cast a spell that will one-shot us and we're totally fucked at this point. Then out of nowhere, Garrosh jumps in with Gorehowl and makes the final strike to kill Archimonde (or at least a strike that makes him weak enough for us to finish him off), but in the process he gets blasted by that spell and dies. Not only does he redeem himself by this action, but he literally does the same thing that his father did in our original timeline that gave TBC Garrosh confidence and pride: he sacrifices himself to save his people. A good ole' fashioned "like father like son" ending. Oh and this would also make the final cutscene of WoD less awkward with Grom acting like our buddy because in my version, he'd feel honored and inspired about his son's act of selflessness so that he'd vow to never wage war and genocide against the innocent again. God I swear I should become the story writer for Blizzard, I'd be sure to make their lore less hamfisted than how they've went about it.

If anyone here ever read the novels... you would know that is very accurate. Garrosh was old school horde and led as such. He was a great Warchief but Blizz kind of butchered the storyline and ended up having him killed off. #ForGarrosh!

Canonically Garrosh is the only character except perhaps Azshara who absorbed the power of an old god without being consumed by it. The writers confirmed that "big troll Garrosh" was controlling the power of the heart and not vice versa.
