My daughter is a student nurse practitioner. When I asked her “what did ya do today? She said “oh, you know played around with some intestines and those things”. Lol I love how she’s nonchalant about it. She just got her white coat with her name on it. Yeah, proud mom here. Happy Holidays to everyone! 🎉♥️❄️

I’m waiting for the interesting story’s from child #3 when she hits med school in a few years, she was originally going to be a physicians assistant,then she realized how many classes she needed to take once she got into PA school and reverted back to her original plan to go to med school it would have taken about the same amount of time and her first passion was to be a doctor , PA school was in many ways a compromise when her college counselor led her to think she would graduate and be working much sooner than the reality 😮

@Lizablue0608 your daughter sounds like my son. He is now a cardiologist, but of course had to go to med school first before specializing. He took the dreaded gross anatomy class in his first block so he could get it our of the way. He and his lab partner named their cadaver "Cornelius". He wasn't phased by it in the least. He also said that one time when he asked when lunch break was, all the others in the cadaver lab looked at him in horror. Apparently he was the only one hungry that day! LOL!

We had cadavers that were kept in formaldehyde in Nursing School. They turn brown and leathery and you can't tell if they are feminine or masculine from the faces (we had one of each). They had been dissected (similar to an autopsy) so that we could see the different organs and such. Everything is brown and looks nothing like a live body as we discovered during our surgical rotation. These bodies were a lot newer than his parents would be, so I honestly would not recommend viewing them even if you were given the opportunity. My mother couldn't serve roast beef for years when my sister or I were home because that is what the muscles looked like. The smell of formaldehyde permeated everything and you couldn't get in the shower fast enough after that lab. I would leave that one alone as some students were seriously traumatized by them.

The cadavers they use in medical school now are just kept cold in between uses , correct ? or are they treated with something as well ? Just curious . I have often thought of donating my body for the education of young Doctors .. Seems better than just letting it rot in a grave . Any advise @lisasmith5291

I had a wild biology teacher when I was in high school, who had a human fetus and separate placenta,(at the time it was 13 yrs old), as well as a fetal horse and pig, in jars of formaldehyde.There were also fish, snakes, turtles,tapeworm, etc.,. At times she would open a jar or two and have us look over the specimen. They were brown. I will never get that smell out of my nostrils. She also kept road kill in her mini fridge along with her lunch. She was almost, (should have been), fired, for giving extra credit to kids who would bring in dead cats and said that it didn't matter how they were collected. Scary woman.

I am a career mortician started in 1990 and I will say this building I don’t believe is near large enough for nine, nine casketed bodies each with individual crypts just wouldn’t fit. From its design crypts would be on the left and right as you walk in the door and they would be one atop the next from floor to ceiling. Building MIGHT be tall enough for three crypt spaces on each side. So “It’s big enough for nine” is likely another of the doc’s “embellishments”. Building is not wide enough for caskets to be entombed “sideways” then one atop another. We have a few of these small family mausoleums in some of our older cemeteries very similar in size and they generally hold four caskets, sometimes six. Also have to take into consideration that there is not outside access to each individual crypt. The caskets have to be placed inside their crypt by bringing them through that front door Which is why they are generally placed two or three spaces on each side as you walk in with a center walkway from the front to the back. They are designed for or with future access in mind.
@pihuey11 күн бұрын
Well, upon watching till the end, lol this one is not designed like the normal small mausoleum… The ones that I have seen or designed for each casket to go into its own space in the wall and then be bricked up or walled up. From the photos this one is just a big open room and casket is stacked on top of casket. Somebody is pinching pennies when they had this designed and built. No thought to future upkeep as those caskets will eventually degrade and the bodies inside will decompose and at a much accelerated rate than ground burial and will leak potentially. Wonder how his formaldehyde casket was designed? Eventually any deterioration would cause the seal to be compromised and that formalin solution would rapidly evaporate or the formalin would either evaporate or crystallize and form paraformaldehyde crystals as formaldehyde is actually a gas. 🤔 methyl alcohol is usually added to formalin solutions to help prevent it from crystallizing while in storage (in bottle/jar/drum etc)

I was thinking more of a narcissist with psychopathic traits or vice versa. And those can lie their a... off and people believe them. I sadly had an experience with one like that who also managed to illegally abduct his own father and put him in a care home when their was no court approval of any of that against the father´s wishes (and it was NOT necessary!). At the end the case went to court and incredibly the narcissist son got away with it by lying like crazy. Court seemed to forget it was still an illegal abduction and restriction of freedom, no matter what he says. And there was much more to this case, it even was a rather well known person in England, which is why I don´t want to give away any further details since the public (sadly!) knows nothing about the story. Well, narcissists get away with almost anything because people believe them if they are unable to recognise a narcissist when they see one.
