Bradon Smith He demonstrated in the movie with the apple that he can turn back time for only certain objects while leaving other stuff uneffected. Of course we are never told explicitly what the consequences of doing that is cuz the warning comes after.

I understood from that that the Eye's magic risks permanently damaging the laws of time, creating non-linear progression and multiple alternate timelines that exist simultaneously. Essentially, time would become chaotic and people would go insane, since we ordinarily perceive time in a linear fashion. Of course, Mordo didn't explicitly state this, but it can be reasonably inferred from what he said. Based on this, using the Eye in the way the HISHE suggests would have been courting disaster.
