Vic Jo lm nearly 63yrs old! I decided to start my own business 6yrs ago. I did invest considerably, however it’s paid off, my grandson is now my apprentice. I did threaten 30 odd years ago do start said business. Oh how I wish I did. I’m more relaxed and I’m introducing my grandson how to run a business without any hassle. Both your faces show complete contentment. Carry on enjoying the business and the lifestyle.

Ahh, bubble and squeak, my old favourite! Vic and Jo, why not consider adding a robot vacuum like a Roomba to help stay on top of the dust. We used to run one in our 60ft narrowboat and it was really good at finding and sweeping up the dusty parts, especially around the fireplace. You could then run it on both Holly and Zero :)

Thanks for the vlogs guys ... one of those little beautiful little things that have kept so many of us sane and amused throughout difficult times. I have to admit that I have long questioned why you didn’t have A boards out ... but ... the other thing you could think of is adding blackboards to your hatch doors so you could chalk up today’s specials on them before flinging them wide open of a morning ... Kind of framing a visual front door ...

Hi Jo & Vic- What a fun vlog. I enjoy you both so much. The signboards are a super great idea. He did a good job on them. I can't wait to see them all painted in Holly's colors. I'm so surprised at how cold it is there. We were there in April in 2017 for our anniversary. We did have one day that was cold...(I bought gloves at the Street Market at Morton In Marsh). We did get a few specks of snow. But the rest of the time was great. We are so used to the warmth of Florida, we get cold quickly. But we were fine. We had such a good time. Are you going to make homemade ice cream this summer? I bet it would be VERY popular. You wouldn't need to have lots of flavors. Just vanilla, chocolate and one other flavor of the day!!! Thank you for making Friday's special for me. I look forward to your entry. God Bless you both. Sue Smith in Florida.

Hey all, caught up on pass video's so now once a week. So much fun and makes me hungry with all the baking. Oh btw, if you start a good fire then put 2 big wet pieces on top the fire will dry it out as it burns, learned that while growing up on a farm, only wood heat for the first 60 years of my life. But I only had to haul the wood in for the first 30 years, 21 to 25 cord of wood per year. 4 foot X 4 foot X 8 foot That's the stack size that is a cord.

I love this channel. Its nice to see the signs. Don't worry about fancy writing. Print it on a computer, chalk the back, and go over the lines to etch the chalk onto the wood. Then paint over. Also, the fuel boat - you can normally call them and order, so they place the order on your roof from the water side if you're not there

@davidcollishaw27713 жыл бұрын
Cooling is key, I think it may ght be worth you looking at a chest freezer solution to allow you to do ice creams and freeze milk to use as a reserve and also Ice packs. You can also buy your milk in a pergle (spelling) which is a huge box of milk with a tap like a giant wine box. I'm sure you've considered freezing bread and cakes which might be viable for afternoon teas and everyone loves toast muffins and crumpets. Some good ways to add value to a purchase. If the intention is a cafe boat not just a coffee boat.

Something I learned over time is dry dusting and sweeping often makes it fly around so now I use a damp rag and use old towels to come after to dry it . I like white ones so I can see if I’m leaving dirt behind. 😂🤣😂. I wonder how much power an ice cream cooler would take? I know our freezers and fridges take a lot of power. It’s lovely to see things greening up , I can’t wait for summer. ☀️.Take care, stay safe and well. 🙋🏼

Wow you had two of my favorite breakfast foods bubble and squeak and as I grow finger size bananas and their good for people with high blood pressure, they add potassium that medication take away. Banana and toasted peanut butter sarnies. Yes. Why not install some hook on trays to the side of Holly, some where to put a coffee or cake plate. You could have a shelf on top of the new signs, also waste box's sign written or black boards to advertise your wares and keep the tow path tidy. Not that I've seen gash lying about I'm sure you would jump on that any way. Having to move all the time will preclude a lot of business's and put people off, so a lot of thought must go into the planning before spending lots of dosh. Plus if it's the only income and not just a top up. I had a paraffin heater on my boat and got rid of it the first spring, it made every thing smell especially clothes. Mind you it did help clear a path to the bar!!! Ice cream and ice lollies wow, I hope you have a great power set up to keep items frozen. Take car and thanks for posting.

Looks like a good day on Holly! That ultramarathon was the Millenium Way Ultra - 41 miles from Newport to Burton upon Trent. I ran it in 2016 (about 8½ hours). Canal towpaths are popular routes for races, as you may have noticed! I've run several, and I keep entering the ballot, unsuccessfully so far, for the Grand Union Canal Race, which is 145 miles from Gas Street Basin, Birmingham to Little Venice, London. Should you happen to be on the GUC on the Spring Bank Holiday weekend, keep an eye out for them running/walking/crawling by - they may seem unresponsive, in fact getting further south they may appear to be sleep-walking, but they will appreciate any support!
