His love for humanity was quite clear in his voice. His love for motorsports was quite clear in the respect he showed for every car. Jim Pace, thank you for everything you've taught us. We will miss you.

How sad it is when we loose our hero's and mentors. Gene Felton a few days ago and now, Jim Pace. May both rest in peace and their legacy live on through our actions and memories. Along with the eyes of the cameras and the great folks that photograph our sport, they will never be forgotten. Jim absolutely was the embodiment of the greatest of ambassabors to both professional and amateur racing. He was always willing to offer help and advice at any point at any time. I feel very fortunate to have known him. I always welcomed his friendship and instruction. A tremendous loss to us all.

Jim was my Skip Barber open-wheeled instructor. He often said, “A happy tire is a noisy tire." A great man and a great diver. I’m honored to have spent a few days with him. RIP sir.

I first met Jim at a Skip Barber comp school at Road Atlanta in 1988 where he was the head instructor for my 3 day comp racing school. His enthusiasm for racing and high performance driving was absolutely incredible. I will miss seeing him at the vintage events. He was always extremely willing to share his track knowledge and a laugh or three. Godspeed Brother....I will sorely miss you!

I crewed for Jim on Jim Downing’s Mazda Program in the early 00’s. Great driver and a good guy. He will be missed for sure.

Jim's in a place where engines always make good power, shifts are glass smooth, the setup on the car is never wrong, tires don't fall off their peak, and fuel needles are suck on full.

Well this is a fantastic Tribute. Boy oh Boy; The Racing Gods and THE Big Guy in The Sky had OPPOSITE PLANS for Jim, didn't they???? He crawls out from under a flipped Vintage Shadow CanAm car after an Exactly-in the wrong place-wrong time Blowover coming up the beginning hill of the Pit Straight at Road America without a scratch; yet somehow, as a Fit Guy, still got Covid-19 late in the year and that was that. LOOOOOOVE his videos; I mean, Heck--there couldn't be any other Driver more respected AND TRUSTED in the Vintage Race Paddock all around NorthAm. He got to drive everything!!.........and having Won Sebring and Daytona in his competitive days and then-- teaching at "The Skippy School" (Skip Barber)--taught others and reinforced his own Fundamentals as he did. So, we all had a Razor-Sharp great choice for the owners of the Gems from the 1960's thru '80's to put in the seat and not worry and just ENJOY watching him Hustle those cars around The Best Tracks on the Continent as much as he Enjoyed keeping the classics alive and roaring. Thank You Jim Pace!!! Now Racing in Paradise!!! Greg Moore, Jeff Krosnoff, Paul Newman, Gilles Villenueve, Ayrton Senna and so many others are Up There to welcome him to Racer's Heaven

i remember in last years hsr daytona 24 race, that leyton house car and some other purple wynns prototype car touched wheels exiting the international hairpin and spun right into eachother and slid right in front of my camp site. i felt so bad for the leyton house team, their car looked absolutely totalled.
