Biological anthropology is all about studying human biology in an evolutionary framework. How did Homo sapiens come to be? Perhaps more importantly, how did this field come to be, and how has it developed over time? Let's take a look at the history of this field now!

@deepmalyachakraborty9878they are brutes, or irrational animals, and we are rational. Plato was right about the scale of nature. We are in the middle position, between higher creatures like spirits and divinities and irrational animals, vegetables, and inanimate creatures. There is no difference between man and the lower animals in a mechanistic world. The difference is in our unifying initiative activity, our act of being directed towards the end of being a man, which is that of a rational animal. It is not a difference in intensity, but in kind. Brutes are not capable of discursive reasoning, they can not set proposition after proposition and demonstrate true results, nor do they receive the intellectual intuition which secure the possibility of certainty in a demonstrative scientific system.

@@exhumus Darwin was seriously puzzled by heritability, and not satisfied with his own speculations. His tentative conclusions about heritability were wrong, and would have been different and much more accurate if he'd read Mendel. He wouldn't have done more with it than 20th century scientists, it just would have been done earlier. Darwin's theory would have been more readily accepted, and Mendel's work would have sparked more study much earlier, because Darwin's work would have brought it to prominence. And we might be ahead of where we are now.

Professor Dave, you are one of the greatest people the world has to offer, and I am incredibly grateful for your deep ambition for making the world more scientifically literate. I am absolutely elated that I live in a time where I can listen to your outstanding videos and learn intricate and astonishing science. I cannot stop telling people about your channel, and I truly think that your videos will make a significant impact if everyone is exposed to your channel. You are so articulate and all of your lessons are so circumstantial. You are perhaps the best teacher I ever had, and I wish this world had more teachers like you. Thank you for teaching me science, thank you for exposing the liars and charlatans at Discovery Institute, and thank you for existing. Hello Dave! I was wondering if you could make a video or series on NDEs (near death experiences), and OBEs (out of body experiences) There seem to be actual genuine doctors who support the idea that there's something spirit soul shenanigans going on when a person goes through this experience and I'd love for you to make a video on it, and, hopefully, debunking it. Thank you, Dave!
