Our local league used to do the four big tournaments (Spike! Invitational, Chaos Cup, Dungeonbowl and Blood Bowl) for the "Big Leagues" teams that made it to 2M+ TV during the regular season. The Dungeonbowl was always my favourite. I'm so excited that it's coming back!

I can't wait to see how each college is represented! Having Dwarves and Ogres represent the Red Wind makes absolute sense; it's the Lore of Fire, Ogres have Firebellies and AoS has Fireslayers dwarves I hope Skaven and DElves represent Grey Wind in spite of their purple dice and color scheme, as the Lore of Shadows is as close as you could get to a ninja, fitting of Gutter Runners and Assassins

The Brown Wind is the Lore of Beast, and those mastering it are shapeshifter druids. Maybe Norse for the Ulwerener and Wood Elves for the nature aspect? Those mastering the Purple Wind, or the Lore of Death are not necromancers, so I hope it's not just Undeads or Necromantics. They are more about visions of death and energy drain, so maybe Vampires? The Blue Wind, the Lore of Heaven is about reading signs in the sky and casting lightningbolt. I have no clue what teams it could fit The Green Wind, Lore of Life is all about nature and growth. I'd see Halflings for the Treemen, and ironically Nurgle, who also represents nature and the cycle of life The White Wind is the Lore of Light, which from the get go reminds me of the Bright Crusaders, so Humans, and High Elves And finally, the Yellow Wind is the Lore of Metal, which is pretty much Alchemy. From the top of my head, the most science driven Blood Bowl team would be Chaos Dwarves, and maybe Goblins with all the Secret Weapons?

In the stream they had a picture that's not present in the WarCom article where the DE-Skaven team was presented under the title "College of Shadow team", who in the lore are indeed those who use the Grey wind. So yeah, its already confirmed that what you're hoping for will happen.

Can't wait. Had the original DB set which my mates and I expanded on. We used to play weekly a 4 team game. We doubled the teleports, doubled the chests and ran with the possibility of two balls in the dungeon at one time. 4 Endzones. We also then incorporated other items in the chests (not just balls or explosions, things like magic items and magic sponges etc) and even roaming dungeon trolls. Great fun was had by all, although games lasted about 3 to 4 hours.

The White Dwarf the 3rd edition rules came in was my first White Dwarf. I hope that coaches are given the ability to build their own colleges to allow all teams in without the need for a lot of rules on who can play with who with the three tier system from 3rd edition 16-6-2 brought over. Very excited for this!!!

Super psyched for the new set. Bene playing BB since release of 3rd edition, so missed Dungeonbowl. Have come close over the years to buying a used copy off eBay, but then I got a PDF of the updated rules and tiles from White Dwarf. Already had plans to 3D print tiles for this even before I knew the new set was being made!

I'm really excited to see this news drop. Dungeonbowl was my ACTUAL first introduction to Bloodbowl when I was at a friend's house and saw the box lying about. We cracked it open and played a quick and dirty with the yellow elves and orange dwarves. I'm really hoping for a good 'mixed team' creation and it might have me buying extra boxes of my favorite teams now so I can fill out my Bloodbowl rosters and use the spare bits to build an adjacent Dungeonbowl team. I always loved the rules for pit traps and shoving players into them. Or checking opponents against the walls. I'd also love to see Dungeonbowl come to Bloodbowl 3. I know we don't even have that game in our hands, and there's a lot of content that needs to be rolled out for it. But a Dungeonbowl expansion for BB3 would be amazing.

Fantastic summary, that was a fun trip down memory lane. With the advent of home 3D printing and a plethora of dungeon tile models and even generators (see MakeTile), the sky is the limit. Just as in any dungeon crawl, the option to house rule very special rooms is limitless. Rotating rooms? Multilevel (especially with 3D printing)? Poison gas? Moving walls? Guardian statues? No light? On and on....

I find this a little funny as I was thinking about Dungeon Bowl last week, and how the College of Magic will pick teams. After seeing this, it made me so happy that it's coming back (and I love that they kept the Elves & Dwarfs as starting teams for the box set), but going back for team set up. I'm wondering if they might go the route of different Colleges can pick a team from two special rules, like the College of Shadows can pick a team from the Elven Kingdoms League & Underworld Challenge and the other College (the name escaped me at this time) can chose from Old World Classic and Worlds Edge Superleague. It will make each College of the same type different at times.

The original dungeonbowl didn't have grey bases with coloured rings like BB, it had whole coloured bases. Well mine did anyway. Always thought the separate rings a good idea. And remember, '88 BB rules big guys took 4 squares so were good for blocking passages

When I saw the live announcement of the new Dungeonbowl edition I almost flipped over the chair 😂 Can't wait to get my hands on the big box and I really, reeeeeeeeeally hope they kept the dungeon lurking monsters in the rules! Same for the Amethyst college with Skaven, Gobbos and Minos, my fav one! Time to work on a portable dungeon field with the parts / custom tiles!

Ive been thinking about the treasure chests. My thinking is that you will have to keep them unpainted otherwise it will be too easy to identify which chest has the ball.

I hope they have a multiple ball option but I am leaning towards two balls rather thàn the three only because then there would be an easy opportunity to include special balls from death zone. Otherwise three wouldn't be too bad - the first is normal then others could be special, but either way I think special balls would be amazing fun in dungeon bowl.

I'm returning to BloodBowl after many, many years and have fallen for it a second time. When I saw the plans for releasing DungeonBowl again on this channel I dusted down my old Advanced Hero quest tiles that I used for DungeonBowl. However, the squares are way too small, sad times, for the newer scaled up miniatures. Looks like I will now have to invest in the new box, however, that's not necessarily a bad thing the content looks amazing.

While Dungeonbowl is exciting I think this is low effort from GW with likely high cost. Making it a stand alone thus reprinting quite a bit of rulebook. That section of the rulebook runs like 60 some pages with skills. Recycled plastics that people likely already have. Is this going to 125 dollars making it less than seconds season since you get less or is it going to be the same or more due to the price rises.

I'm thinking/hoping it will be reduced compared to the S2 box. Overall, there are far less models in it, but I do think that a few of the models could be useful for filling out some of the base teams; those two Ogres would fill out the missing two of the Ogre box, and if the kit comes with a Gutter Runner, that would help Skaven/Underworld (though the images on GW disagree over whether a GR is in the kit...)

I didn't pick up the most recent edition of Blood Bowl but got the edition before 2016? So I myte pick up Dungeon Bowl and BB 3rd edition rule book. The Khorne team really blew me away also lol
