Hansen is Awesome Kung Lao either has an infinite amount of hats or his hat teleports back on his head (unless he's dead). EDIT: It beats me to know why Kung Lao doesn't cut himself; maybe he wears gloves that don't cut his hands?

Honestly, while Raiden couldn't have prevented Kung-Lao's death as he likely didn't expect that to happen, he could have stopped Sub-Zero from becoming a robot, he kept Smoke from it then he just stands there when Sub-Zero is taken. Also, I find it sad what happens to Raiden. In the old timeline he was well respected and everyone followed him, he was basically like Superman where everyone knew he'd save the day, then Armageddon happens and he sends a message to his past self and this causes Raiden to get confused and wonder what all is supposed to happen which leads everyone to doubt him and him accidentally getting everyone killed while he and Liu-Kang were talking with the Elder God's. Then everyone hates him, Scorpion calls him a liar (in actuality, he never lied to Scorpion, he offered to resurrect his clan if Scorpion didn't kill Bi-Han but Scorpion does), all the revenants hate him and in some of the interactions it is clear that most of the heroes find him useless now. To top it all off, both times he sacrifices himself in an attempt to save the world, he ends up becoming evil himself. Raiden was the last on to stand against Shao-Kahn, and he prevented the end of the world and his thanks is that everyone either hates him or mistrusts him and now he is evil.

MysteriousTomJenkins Well, Sonya and Johnny stuck by Raiden and chose to continue fighting alongside him, even trusting him to help fight. Bo Rai Cho still sees him as a friend, and even Jax defended Raiden when Revenant Liu Kang bad-mouthed him, despite being one of the fighters murdered because of Raiden's choices.
