6:17 Windows used to be more expensive than $130 back in the day? Nowadays it's $99 for Windows 10 Home, and since I saw an old 1990's decade ad presented by Steve Ballmer himself, which advertised one of the first versions of Windows as $99 too, I thought it had always been $99.
@clarkkent60265 жыл бұрын
yes, I thought the same about pricing; two things have been constant for apple thru its entire existence: overpriced products along with underpowered hardware; I even remember when they produced the "snail" pentium ads and a couple years later they acknowledged their PowerPC micros were the slowest crap ever to equip a pc and they swallowed their monstruos ego and switched to... intel of course

Mavericks was the best. Like Snow Leopard being the optimization of Leopard, Mavericks was the culmination of improvements since Lion. I stuck to it for as long as web browsers supported it. @helloworld Jobs wasn't the owner of Pixar. Jobs was a chairman in the company, but it had a board and private stock that made up ownership for the company. Jobs didn't buy Pixar out from Disney. Pixar was made an independent company away from Lucasfilm in 1986. Jobs was one of the earliest investors in the company and was made chairman of the company. "Ownership" was divided among those with shares and equity. Disney and Pixar's relationship got so bad at one point that Disney tried to form its own internal CG animation team called Circle 7 Animation, but then Disney bought Pixar in May of 2006. I don't know why so many people make up stuff about Pixar

As for iOS and MacOS connection - Steve Jobs in 2007 said, that iPhone runs on OS X, that does not mean those systems are exactly the same, but their relationship is the same as between Windows 10 and now discontinued Windows 10 Mobile, so not all features of MacOS will be available on iOS and vice versa, but they have a lot in common as iOS is based on source code of OS X (now MacOS).

The "Classic" Operating system on early Macintosh computers wasn't called MacOS, It was simply "System" and a version number. As one might tell, I'm not a Mac expert, But I'm thinking that Apple considers them a separate families. Not a direct analogy,but for simplification, Think NT based Windows compared to DOS based Windows. a history of "System" would be it's own tale. X came after 8 and Apple just stuck with X over the life of several versions, much as MS is keeping "10" after 8, LOL .even if Windows 10 from 2015 would be a bit different from Windows 10 in 2020.

Great video! I'm one of the rare people that primarily use macOS for desktop use and Android for mobile (phone and tablet) use. I have a 2018 MacBook Pro, Google Pixel 2 XL, and Samsung Galaxy Tab S3. Sure I don't get to use things like Handoff, but I just feel like Android is a better mobile operating system, at least for me. That being said, it's oddly convenient. I can use the same USB-C chargers for everything and I can sideload Android updates via a USB-C cable that could also be used to charge any of the devices or even rapid charge my phone from the MacBook Pro. Windows 10 is going off the deep end. There is so much bloat and forced Microsoft services. I feel like for regular use, macOS is a must-have for desktop purposes, except for gaming which I do not do. I work in IT so I deal with Windows every say. It's nice to relax in macOS. It's not dumbed down or simplified. It's just a more efficient way to do the same tasks.
