yeah their biggest mistake was letting fans vote for the poor kid’s life. He was my favorite robin solely because he was more relatable as a character, but because he was arrogant and didn’t listen, which is what teens do, people wanted him dead because of that which made me sad. Now whenever someone talks about Jason, people think of him as the robin who was beaten. His new character is way better, but I always wonder what would’ve happened if they kept him alive in the comics

@@ianfinrir8724 72 votes exactly. In total, there were 10,614 votes casted. 5,343 votes for Jason to die, and 5,271 votes for Jason to live. Said robocaller reportedly spam called this hotline every 90 seconds for 8 hours, for a total of roughly 320 votes. Basically, if that massive cuntasaurus didn't cheat the system, the results would've been a different story, literally. Although, it would also mean we likely wouldn't have gotten Tim Drake (At least, not as we know him), nor would we have Under the Hood and its equally excellent film adaptation. Ironic. In that guy's quest to make sure Jason Todd would die and stay buried, in a twisted way, he made him more prevalent, and brought about fandom-wide sympathy to a character that previously had very little.

I feel like an important point has been missed about Jason's Helmet. Talia gave him the helmet and encouraged him to take up the name Red Hood as that had been the Joker's original name. She wanted Jason to use his fear as a way to make him stronger, very much like Bruce used his fear of bats to become Batman. HOW IS NO ONE ELSE TALKING ABOUT THIS?!

I don't read a lot of comics (cause money) but I try to follow the basic stuff through subreddits. I for one wasn't paying attention to Jason until the animated movie was released. I had always thought the return of Bucky Barnes pulled off the same concept way better. But I feel the opposite now. I like post New-52 Jason. Feels like they actually know what to do with him now, for the most part.

The defining quality of Jason Todd was always that he is a hero with the mind of a villain. There were numerous times, as Robin, he defied Batmans planned strategies, and got things done in a more efficient, but slightly more violent way. When he first appears as Red Hood, he basically takes full control over the entire Gotham underworld almost overnight. He thinks like a villain. He knows where they would go, what they would do and what they would be planning next, because he would do exactly the same thing. Bruce employs psychology to find his enemies, Jason is more like a psychic in comparison.

There are a few comics in continuity that seem to suggest he does have slightly enhanced healing, and a lot of fandom speculates he might have enhanced healing and decelerated aging from the Lazarus Pit, but it's never been confirmed. Also, he once stopped Super Girl's punch (might have been twice actually), but we don't really know what that's about and it was before the New 52/Rebirth changed some stuff I think so who knows now.

Red Hood is easily one of my favorite anti-heroes so I appreciate this video, however, I would also like to see someone make a video about his triple origins. Here they are in short term (as best as I can anyway): 1. Comic Book - Jason was killed by The Joker along with his mom after getting voted out of the series (a detail that they failed to mention here) and was resurrected during Crisis On Infinite Earths, was given a Jacuzzi bath in a Lazarus Pit by Talia Al Ghoul who figured that he would make the perfect disciple for her and later returned to Gotham as Red Hood in an attempt to both take over it's criminal underworld by wiping out all the crime bosses and to mess with Batman's mind. Both schemes ultimately failed. Also Black Mask enlisted the aide of Mr. Freeze in this version due to his knowledge of quick freeze technology and Jason did go after Joker later in the story leading up to it's legendary and climactic ending. 2. Animated Movie - Jason was killed by The Joker the same way as in the comic book only without his mom. Was resurrected in a Lazarus Pit by Ras' Al Ghoul out of guilt and sympathy (neither of which Ras's is usually known for) due to having been the one who had hired Joker in the first place, and having believed that the psychotic villain's murder of the Boy Wonder was completely pointless. In this version Black Mask made the mistake of enlisting the aide of Joker which nearly led to the downfall of his entire gang. "You can't trust anyone". On a side note, this remains my all time favorite Batman movie to date. 3. Video Game (Batman: Arkham Knight) - Jason was never killed but was revealed instead to have been held prisoner and tortured by Joker in a long abandoned section of Arkham Asylum for over a year as Joker tried to turn him to the dark side, similar to what he did to poor Tim Drake in Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker. Jason finally escaped at some point and left Gotham for a time. It was revealed that he had gone to South America to assemble a militia against Batman who he now wanted to kill for supposedly "abandoning" him after having failed to find him and "replacing" him with Tim Drake as the new Robin. Jason later returned to Gotham, first as the Arkham Knight with his militia backing him up and took on his Red Hood persona toward the end. He first used it in his final battle with Batman, then, having apperently reconciled with his old mentor, went on to become the Arkham-verse's version of our favorite anti-hero and vigilante, now taking on his official Red Hood look. So that is it in the shortest terms that I could do here. Hopefully someone will eventually do this as an actual video some day. Keep your fingers crossed. ; )

@@LordSnurdle As mentioned above, Batman: Under The Red Hood is my all time favorite Batman movie (yes, it still holds that mantle), but I have also read the comic book arch via the collected edition and so I can honestly say that this was the one and only time (so far) that I didn't mind the creative changes that were made to the story for the sake of the movie. I usually hate it when they don't stick to the source material, but for Under The Red Hook it worked out and for once, I actually prefer the movie over the book.

Training guns doesn't only mean he'll have to shoot..It helps in better accuracy...it also helps in using other gadgets like grappling gun and stuff

Batman is trained in many types of lethal weaponry. There was a Justice League episode where earth was invaded by parademons. Mindless alien robots that follow Darksied. As soo as they invaded, Batman picked up a battle axe off the ground and just started chopping them up with ease. Just a part of Batman's character I always thought was badass. He trains with weapons despite there being no feasible reason why he would ever use them.

I love Jason Todd's character and personality design from the writers. Probably my favorite DC comics character. He's defiantly one of my top favorite characters in comics alone.

Red Hood's weapon list also has The All Blades, made out of copper and designed to kill magic based threats, such as the UNTITLED or AMAZONS. They can only be only be summoned in presence of absolute evil and powered by the soul of the wielder. After mastering the All Cate's teachings, Jason gained access to the All Blades, being capable of summoning them to his hands by will.

I really hope that if red hood ever gets a live action, they dont try to change anything to make him apealing to the masses. His character is absoluetly perfect as it is and even though some people my not like him, you shouldn't change him. A good character does not need to be likable and a good hero does not to be perfect, the rawness is what people can connect to most and Jason is all that and more.

Jason has to be the one DC individual I see myself in the most and there for is my favorite overall. His story is tragic and some of us can relate to a struggling young man who wants those he cares about to go to the same lengths for him as he would for them.

Jason’s first appearance was in issue #357 The handgun sometimes depicted as Joe Chill’s weapon of choice is a 357 magnum. Joe Chill is the reason Batman is orphaned, just like Jason, who later uses dual handguns. Kind of a cool detail.

@@dcmarvelcomicfans9458 Actually, no, he canonically uses them in Rebirth in Qurac with Artemis and Bizarro against the Bow Of Ra (I want to say like #9 or 10?). The reason we don't see him use them much is simply because they only work against magic and he doesn't actually fight magic all that often. What that means though, is he's the only member of the batfamily that actually CAN fight magic w/ magic without having to go to someone else for help.

I think you forgot an important part of Jason's history : From what I know joker captured him and tortured him for almost 2 years. You can see in batman arkham city, the joker torturing him to the point that he's no longer loyal to batman.
