The main topic of Resolution 2758 is to determine who can represent CHINA to join UN. It is totally unrelated to the determination of the sovereignty of Taiwan. Besides, UN has no authority to decide the sovereignty of any country. The sovereignty of Taiwan is determined by the the San Francisco Treaty that concluded the conflicts of WWII. Signed: September 8, 1951, the Treaty clearly stipulated “Japan renounces all right, title and claim to Formosa and the Pescadores”. The sovereignty of Taiwan is in the hands of all Taiwanese people, including Native Austronesian Taiwanese, immigrants to Taiwan, Taiwan-born-Chinese, and Taiwan-born-Multiracial citizens based on the the right to self-determination protected by the UN. The right to self-determination was an integral element of basic human rights and fundamental freedoms, the Third Committee (Social, Humanitarian and Cultural) heard today as it concluded its general discussion on that subject, and on the elimination of racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia and related intolerance. “It is only through the realization of this very basic right of people to determine, with no compulsion or coercion, their own future, political status and independence that we can begin to address others such as dignity, justice, progress and equity,” said the representative of Maldives. Yet millions of people were stripped of the right to determine their own fate, due either to military intervention, aggression, occupation or to exploitation by foreign Powers. China is foreign power to Taiwan. China is stripping of Taiwan’s right for more than 73 years! ENOUGH is ENOUGH. This is the 21st century. Please be civilized & STOP✋🏻

You can not gain the right of self determination as a occupying power, the right to self determination is only offered to people indeginous people. The KMT occupied taiwan and killed masses of indeginous people.

Taiwan never was a country. The fact is that the civil war started before 2nd world war in China never has been ended. If you want a new republic of Taiwan, you need to prepare to fight bravely, like the southern states did three hundred years ago in US. We Americans will root for you.
