Zeus is basically what the Mythology story explains and tells,however there's alot of twist and turns to the character that makes him unique that other versions of the Sky Father,seeing Zeus going Mad like Kronos is mess up while thinking about it and after his death and knowing that Kratos opening Pandora's Box turning Olympian Gods Mad only makes things worse since most of them helped Kratos and it his fault of killing his last remaining Family he has brought consequences and not knowing who's Mad or is them doing this like Ares did,this was a great video and if you think about it for all the horrendous things zeus did,Odin is much worse than Kratos Father and this Circle seems like it will never end.

GOW Zeus is so strong that can destroy the whole universe of Greek mythology within his palm if he wants. In the God of War 2 Novel when Zeus found out that Kratos killed the Fates, he vented his ire with a roar that shook the world (by merely getting angry). The GOW Greek universe is infinite and exist 3 levels of reality in it: The underworld at the bottom, the gigantic-flat planet/earth in the middle, and the heavens (the very universe with the galaxies and stars) on top. Exist also the domain of death which is a completely different dimension ruled by the god of death Thanatos and belongs in the Greek pantheon. Outside all of it the known to us "universe," there is also scan who actually confirms infinite other layers of reality in the Greek world and Zeus views all of it. Zeus' skies (the plane of existence who HE created) are infinite Zeus is physically just as strong as Atlas or even stronger, and that's literally consistent with the fact that in God of War 3 Zeus matched Kratos very well strength wise and Kratos himself prevented Atlas from crushing him with his strength more than once. Atlas easily holded all creation for nearly 20 years. What is more impressive is the fact that Atlas can do that with just one hand if he pleases to. Kratos also overpowers and defeats Hercules himself who is the literal embodiment of physical strength in Greek mythology and has the exact same feat as Atlas. Zeus' attacks are so fast, that even Hermes couldn’t perceive them. Hermes is the one who brings the dreams to the mortals when they are asleep and who personally ferries the souls of the dead to the Underworld, all at the SAME time. He also runs from a mountain range in the horizon all the way and fills cups of wine before Poseidon himself is able to even finish a sentence, and most importantly, while being injured Hermes can dodge casually the Light of Helios' sunlight burst which could illuminate the infinite Underworld. And since an injured Hermes can perform infinite speed feats, that means a healthy Hermes should have at least inaccessible. And still be a healthy Hermes too slow compared to Zeus (that's why Zeus was able to one shot Hermes casually with a single lightning strike and Hermes couldn't dodge it), because Zeus is infinitely superior, stronger, faster, and more durable than any other Olympian. Zeus is actually an immeasurable speeder, the guy is easily compared to Sigrun from God of War 4 in speed who is fast enough to physically travel to each of the Nine Realms, which are separate universal dimensions, nigh-instantaneously to collect dead souls and send them to either Valhalla or Hel. She literally travels through time itself with her speed alone, and Zeus himself is compared to that if not just as fast. Zeus also demonstrated a bunch of VARIOUS impressive divine abilities and hax's, and his power set includes power removal, superhuman strength, superhuman speed, teleportation, lightning manipulation and projection, magic, telepathy, telekinesis, shapeshifting (Zeus made himself look as the oldest of the Olympians, despite actually being the youngest of his siblings), size shifting, energy absorption, clones creation, conceptual manipulation, life manipulation, curse manipulation, animal manipulation, dimensional travel, astral projection, madness manipulation, immortality (types 1, 2 and 3), power nullification, soul manipulation, mind imprisonment and mid-tier reality warping. Zeus transcends universal world creators which are the Primordials, especially Ouranus (father of Cronos and the one who created the universe in his fight with Ceto). Zeus is far superior to any character in the entire GOW Greek universe and equal to prime GOW 3 Kratos (pre-hope) who was massively amped by all the outside powerups/hax and arsenal of the entire Greek pantheon including the soul of Hades itself, a MASSIVE amp who made Kratos astronomically strong. Zeus is most likely stronger, faster, more durable and skilled than all of Olympians combined. And with the Blade of Olympus is beyond overkill. And this was my bitching because GOW's Zeus is my favorite character, *ENJOY!*

I think the sprirtual avatar he used was his own ascended form like Athena's. If that is the case then Zeus is definitely the second strongest character behind hope Kratos. I think fear only made him more paranoid, it probably possessed him because it knew of his strength as he was the only being capable of sealing the evils in the box.

I was really shocked at how zeus was in the games, he was always trying to hurt kratos, always trying to kill him...to be honest, I'm glad he got what came to him...but on the other hand...I felt bad for kratos after he finished off his old man...because I had a feeling that doing that would come back to haunt him and in god of war 4 when he was in helheim, he saw an illusion of zeus and to be honest...it spooked him...😒

It's good to keep in mind that the storytelling and writing of many Greek and Norse characters tend to differ than their actual mythology at times for narrative reasons and such. But also remember that even the original myths had different interpretations depending on who told the stories. I hope to see more on the Greek saga after you do more Norse ones, especially on the likes of Athena and Ares since they had the most impact on Kratos as a character and his development throughout the games.

Zeus was the only character Kratos needed the full power of a god in the form of hope to defeat. That raises the question in the god of war how strong will Odin be? Odin is a different kind of threat entirely. Zeus was written as the strongest by Cory,said as the classic all powerful version while Odin is already overshadowed Zeus beat Cronos,who beat Uranus and was repeatedly stated as the strongest of the gods. Kratos is another discussion cause he has a huge history of power ups and power downs,his strength is different depending on when you ask. Its stated in GoW4 that Odin will need Thors help to defeat Surtur,we also know Fenrir will eat Odin only for the wolf to get killed off by another of his Odins sons thats weaker than Thor In direct combat while very powerful he isnt top tier,his speciality is incredibly powerful magic attacks and unbreakable spells but more importably he is a manipulator that makes puppets out of everything and he has knowledge no one should have Zeus is a very direct physical threat,Odin is WORSE cause he manipulates entire events. Fanboys are lying to themselves if they think we are getting a Zeus 2.0 and thats better they dont like it just that they are immature and well...fanboys. Mythological has always portrayed Zeus and the top god. He is stronger than his entire pantheon combined in physical might and was able to overcome typhoon who was basically the Olympian gods ragnorok. Odin isn’t the strongest, that goes to Thor and Vidar who’s strength was second to Thor. Odin wasn’t able to over come his killer Fenrir like Zeus could typhoon. Odin is however more magically proficient and he is dangerously cunning.

The narrator made a mistake when he said Hera gave birth to Ares and Athena by Zeus. Hera actually gave birth to Hephaestus and Ares. Athena was Zeus's daughter via his FIRST wife and his and Hera's cousin Metis a Titan that he tricked into turning into a fly and he swallowed her and she spent the 9 months building armor for Athena causing Zeus a excruciating headache and he had Hepheastus spit open his head and out hopped Athena as a fully grown goddess and sadly Metis was absorbed by Zeus granting himself more wisdom.

One thing I’ve always been curious about is why didn’t Zeus just confront Kratos with all the remaining Gods after Hades death? We can assume no God besides Hades is permitted into Hell, but once Kratos returns, why don’t they confront him? Kratos is the only person left to fight the war, and instead of facing him, all the gods face him one on one for no explainable reason beyond. Edit: Another thing that bugs me is how severely nerfed the gods are in GoW after the first one. Ares literally created a portal that transported Kratos into some kind of galaxy realm and nearly lost despite being imbued with the power of multiple gods over the course of the game. And then in GoW 3 Kratos manages to kill the 2nd most powerful god after loses all his powers in the river styx.

Regarding the marked warrior, when Ares took deimos, kratos tried attacking Ares and get his brother back and ares used his weapon and hit kratos which marked his left eye. This is where he was marked and the prophecy was then self fulfilled and kratos tattooed his body in memory of brother while having the scar on his eye.
