Not sure how the community all settled on the idea of controlling plants. Pink Floyd's most famous and iconic album cover has a light shining into a prism and being split into a rainbow. To me controlling light would be the most obvious choice for abilities. Since they're apparently rushing MK2, I think it'd be cool if they got back to basics with the story, make it revolve around a tournament and introduce Floyd as some sort of new era Reptile.

Floyd could just be the Dan of the MK ninjas. Just a regular guy with an overinflated ego, through a comedy of errors, ends up in the stuck in another dimension as an accidental participant of some death tournament. He saw so many ninjas, so he assumed that it was the dress code, and hastily cobbled together his outfit the night before.

Floyd could be very well be just a name like hanzo hasashi, bi-Han, kuai Liang, with his code-name being actually different. One person in the comments has said it but perhaps Floyd may be the only ninja to join a modern American faction rather than traditional ninja clan (hence the name of Floyd and then insert surname). But all of this thinking is probs pointless considering games is most likely and will be finishing after t1000 and Conan are fully released

@@RedCommunistDragon Oniro doesn’t count because he’s an unofficial character from DOTR. Even then the Grandmaster has red garbs. I still officially associate Khrome with white since Smoke already tends to occasionally have silver garbs. White tends to work better with Khrome anyway which looks great with a hooded white garbs & silver arms, and it’s not like they’ve reused similar colors before. Sektor & Cyrax, Reiko, even the two Sub-Zero brothers and Hydro. Plus, the most generic Lin Kuei warriors have gray garbs. Besides, the only animated characters that I think could potentially be treated as cannon are Asgarth, Duroc, Komodai, Karbrac, and Ruby.

This is MK we’re talking about here. Just curious, though, has Smoke ever had a dark sliver aesthetic, to the point it’s almost *black?* I ask this in regard to Khrome, as certain metals such as lead or silicon are typically a dark silver/grey color. There’s also aluminum, which is often a silvery-white.

@@RedCommunistDragon well, I think he’s had some aspects of silver to his color ever since MK Annihilation. Which honestly looks great for the character. And the closest he got to having more black in his design is Shaolin Monks, which is still my most favorite human design with his MKD/MKA design being my most favorite and overall best cyborg design of the character which I still prefer overall. Many characters have different variations of colors, but the reason why white works so well for Khrome is because the more hooded white garbs contrasts extremely well with his transforming Liquid Metal arms. This is in large part due to the numerous fan art and seeing a custom figure has this color scheme officially sealed for me. I tend to be more willing to select certain characters as those who I can fit in my head cannon as possibly being in the universe despite not being completely official, although I can’t include Oniro since he’s mostly been replaced by Grandmaster. You could possibly call him Oniro, but his white garbs and animality abilities are no longer part of his character. Plus, his red garbs tends to match with Sektor who is probably more closely related to him than most of the clan, which makes sense.

@@EpicJasonX9000 Well summed up essay.👍 On the subject concerning Oniro: From what I’m aware, Oniro is a shapeshifter, as well as a manipulative leader, so they could possibly make him and Khrome one in the same, but I personally believe that might waste the other’s potential, story wise (plus we already have Shang Tsung and Quan Chi for that). There is also his relation to Sektor, as you mentioned. I’ve read somewhere he’s actually Sektor’s father, however, I’m not sure how reliable that source was, so take this with a huge grain of salt. Granted, it would make sense considering Sektor in the first two timelines was established as being the son of the Grandmaster.

For an orange ninja, they'd have to make him really distinct from Scorpion, and from brown Tremor, as well. -White could be used for the being known as "Monster", a character only seen in Mortal Kombat Deception's Konquest Mode. Chameleon also sometimes appears white, even though he should be more like clear/rainbow/constantly-changing. -There could also be a light blue, like what I imagine Frost would be, if she was a typical female ninja, which would be distinct from Kitana's blue. Some languages have more than one word for light blue and dark blue, so it's as fair game as pink (some languages just call that a shade of red). Or make it more like cyan.

I think make him use sound for his powerset and then give him Echo as a name to reference Floyd's song Echoes, which was performed back in 1971. To my understanding, Echoes was one of the most important songs that was done or at least one that made the biggest impact between Pink Floyd's early experimental material as a cult band and later mainstream success.

At first I was skeptical about this but thinking about it it does make sense, having a 10th Male Ninja in Pink is a unique take on a Character and giving him Photokinesis by Fan Imput would add layers to his Character and his Pink Ninja Design as a creature of Love and Lust there’s tons of potential directions they can go by, now as for him being removed, I don’t see it as a Lost, who knows if that code could return as a Potential Ultimate Edition and it would give room to make this Character as a High Demand, One Day, Someday, we might see Floyd Appear unlike Khrome who is More Impossible.

I totally believe a professional writer would try to use it for "plant manipulation", especially related to DC Comics (as Mortal Kombat technically is). Why? Maybe he could be a earth realm scientist who admired netherrealm ninjas so much that he geeked out and became a ninja and he mixed that with his mad science which happened to be botany related to controlling plants. Make him a little goofy and it turns out that everyone knows his identity and he's embarrassed about it so everyone refuses to call him by his codename, so everyone just calls him his real name which happens to be Floyd. His codename could be Carnation or Thorn.

I’ve been a Mortal Kombat fan since I was 11yrs old when the original game first came into the arcades and 32yrs later (god that makes me feel old) I’ve gotten into the MK lore because MK is my favourite fighting game series and I’ve never heard of Floyd (I knew a Russell Floyd and his sisters Kim and Mel from school). Ok so Wu Lae is not Silver, black and orange, he is white, black and orange ok so that's good to know they should add a ninja of the Jungle Ninja Clan I don't know which he should be since they are green and black he should have powers of the Swap, Mud, Soil, Earth and Plant Vines, The Same goes with the Tengu Clan and The Snow Ninja Clan, The Snow Ninja should have a white ninja with powers of Fog and Snow, Since they are gray and black and for The Tengu Clan an orange ninja besides Wu Lae he should have some fire abilities and other special abilities too.

wel kamen rider had a magenta rider whose actor created a pink toku hero. the whole gimmick was cammeras, CMYK. and using photos to see the future changes like in back to the future and also a way to captur ememories because he was missing his own. so yeah... unless hes gonna start quoting Pink FLoyd and he's a 70s rocker ninja... it WOULD be cool to have him attack you with a guitar with powers similar to Sindel..

Chlorokinesis seems odd for pink, i'd associate it more with psionic powers myself. You did mention Warhammer, and my first thought was gene-stealer, so perhaps a flesh crafting power? The power to twist the flesh of himself or others, ranging from shape-shifting to healing, could fight like John Carpenters "The Thing".

I really don’t like the name tbh. If they had to keep the Pink Floyd reference like Rain is to Prince. I think they should’ve gone with a name like “Moon” and given him cosmic nebula space powers instead. Maybe he also gets his powers from the actual moon or has a moon variant of Kotal’s sun powers?

You could also do the fighting game trope of giving him an evil alter ego he has to struggle against tied to the dark side of the moon. Since he has cosmic space powers, I could see this being inspired by the dark side of the force from star wars. Maybe he also has the ability to create cosmic nebula beam swords? If I remember correctly, pink is the oldest color on earth so it could be cool to make him someone who’s been around for thousands of years originally. Maybe his pink cosmic space powers are a mastered version of Sonya’s pink chi powers??
