Few things about Chu Chulainn from an Irish person. - His "frenzy" ability is described as his entire body morphing. His skin would literally tear itself from his body, his legs would invert like a horses' legs, he would grow a 6th finger on each hand and his hair would stand on end and form spikes so sharp, it would skewer apples and flesh alike. He would also grow in height. When they say "he tore their castle down", they mean it. He literally tore a castle down brick by brick to get at them. It also has the coolest name in Gaelige, "Riastad" or "warp spasm". - He killed an Irish Wolfhound, a dog specifically made to kill wolves and bears, at 8 armed with nothing but a hurley stick and sliotar, basically a baseball bat and baseball. - He trained in Scotland under Scathach, basically another Gaelic mythological hero. - He once fought the giant Fionn MacCumhaill for days. - He was part Balor (demon from Gaelic myth) and the son of Lugh, the Gaelic god of War and Destruction, who was also known to have a temper - His spear, Gae Bolg couldn't be handled normally and would have to be tossed with his foot. Holding it would kill anyone who touched it. - He avenged his own death. After the battle when they went to see if he was dead, the person who killed him touched his corpse, and promptly was decapitated and lost an arm when Cu Chulainn's spear fell on him Also, it's pronounced "Coo Cullen"

Thats really awesome information! Easton press (the book collection behind me) has a book all about him and I was really considering getting it! I caught the pronunciation from the song 🙃. Also, where are you located? My wife and I have spent quite a bit of time in Ireland. We basically rent a car, get B&B vouchers and go. We've covered most of the country except Ulster.

Miracle of Sound is more or less one guy (Gavin) and has been doing fan music for movies and games for a while now. His first official hit i think was "Take it Back" for mass effect 3

This one got my vote. I know, this is nothing historical(besides being historical for the game franchise) but check out the two Deus Ex Songs made by Miracle of Sound. They are really good, even for people who never played the games.

There's a reason why the god of music in my group's D&D setting is Gavin, the Miracle of Sound. His music has been the inspiration for gods, races, legends, and lands in Soma, I couldn't help but give him a nod as the god of song.

The battle between Ferdiad and Cú Chulainn is interesting. Ferdiad was said to have had skin no weapon could pierce, but Chulainn was far more skilled. After three days of battle, Chulainn told his servant to throw a spear into the river in which they fought, and as it came floating by, he grabbed it with his toes and rammed it into Ferdiads anus, thereby killing him.

Many of his songs sound similar and I can tell that the instruments are computer generated. I only listened to his older stuff.

@@jessel3621 I guess if by older stuff, you mean like pre-late-2011, I can see what you mean. Everything kinda had a generic memey rock vibe to it. Production wise you can definitely tell in his older stuff that he's using Cubase or some other plug-in software but I think he still did a good job of making each song distinct, with its own identity through the compositions. It has undoubtedly gotten better post-patreon though. With more real instruments, collabs and a third-party mastering everything.

@@HistoryBuff not really, they have a drummer, and all the others are former lead singers of other bands. They have Long practiced sounding like instruments, but the explanation doesnt really do it justice. I recommend checking out their newest album - To the Power of Eight, or Badaboom (a semi-comedy original), or their cover of Wishmaster. (Or Fear of the Dark) but NOT the live performances, the sound quality was terrible and 1 band members microphone was malfunctioning
