This feels like what they did with BOTW, it's got a general area but not everything lines up perfectly. It's mostly hints of where thing could be without a lot of physical comparisons

I thought the same thing! Definitely cool to see the references.

Yeah, the Floaro Gardens are shown to be a ways south-ish of Jubilife Village, whereas Floaroma Town/Meadow is shown to be due north of modern-day Jubilife City. Of course, it's possible that the Ancient Retreat could develop into Celestic Town, but Firespit Island is too close to mainland Hisui to become Stark Mountain in present-day Sinnoh. The river shown east of Sandgem Flats could eventually dry up, and Sandgem Town could pop up there.

Started good, but those last 3 or 4 aren't right. Just because they're named similarly doesn't mean it's the same area. You have to look for visual clues. Celestic Town is the Ancient Retreat, for example. You can tell just by how it's laid out.

Same with how Jubilife Village and Jubilife city aren't the same on the region map. Village appears where Floaroma Town is and is also surrounded by the rivers and the southern part by the ocean. City is not surrounded by the rivers, is more south, and appears next to a lake not the ocean.

But how does Sandgem flats become Sandgem town? The areas around lake verity are too close together to be Twinleaf, Route 201, Sandgem, and route 202. And if the area north of Sandgem flats is route 202 how is there a river running through it?

Geographically, it does make sense for those towns and routes to be in that general area (given the presence of Lake Verity), and it’s not too far fetched to assume that those landmasses expanded over time and the rivers closed up to make way for 202 and the likes ^^

The Volcano Area is what becomes the Pokémon League, not Stark Mountain. Geography and time (only 200 years before Platinum) do not permit it to be Stark Mountain, which if you pay attention to the official map is covered by clouds/terra incognita.

I beleive jubilife town is canalave city, pure because the bridges have nameplates that say so
