This is why we all return to the Saguto church of Golfoholics. Last weekend I strayed away from the flock and tinkered with my golf swing. I migrated back into dropping the club and firing the hips. These variables possessed my round, everything went the shite, and I never recovered. Thank you for posting this refresher sermon, and I promise to never be tempted away again.😇 Cheers...!

Ah....the prodigal golfer returns.... 😆 I absolve you, Joseph. Now go forth and stray from the truths of golf swing physics and geometry no more. For your "penance" I ask you to make straight your path - actually, make that path properly in to out - by considering enrolling in the online school and taking your learning and your game to the next level. That's where - in addition to detailed lessons and drills that take you through the entire swing step-by-step, position-by-position from setup to finish - you'll find diagnostic tools for identifying/resolving swing and ball flight issues when they arise, plus advanced level instruction, and much more. Thousands of men and women from across the globe - including many accomplished, low-handicap, competitive players and spanning all age ranges from junior to super-senior - are now enjoying the best golf of their lives as a result, and their unsolicited testimonials tell the story quite well: saguto.golf/p/sagutogolfreviews. The value in terms of what you get for the low price point is beyond comprehension and based on proven results it represents by far the best golf instruction deal on the planet. Also, through the just-released SagutoGolf mobile app my online school members now have the ability to take me out with them to the course, the range, the 19th Hole, or wherever they wish. Having me in your pocket, golf bag, or cart is a great way to ensure that you never deviate again. 😎 And if you'd like to first "dip a toe in the water" prior to diving into the school, then here is a link to my FREE mini course “The Top 3 Keys You Need to Be a Great Ball Striker”: go.saguto.golf/ Featuring 17 videos and 45 minutes of detailed lesson and drill content, this is a great way to gain a fundamental understanding of this system as well as an introduction to the formal learning method that is delivering the referenced results. Krispy. This is the best simplest how to swing a club ever. Other YTs PGAs need to stop their OTT content on teeny variables that get in your head as a 'big' thing to sort out. None are required. I am first to say this works and when it doesn't for me, it's because I've let something in that's not required. Props to Tom 👏 @SagutoGolf Could you do a bunker vid using this approach pretty please with KFC coating on top?

Tom, I've been a member of Saguto Golf for over a year working on all your drills but this video answered a lot of questions I had particularly about the trail arm/elbow being higher than the lead arm at the initial takeaway. I am a 14 handicap and shot 78 yesterday with this one tip. I would take one slow motion practice swing to make sure I was getting the position right and then let it rip. I've never driven the ball better and my iron game was spot-on. This drill really got my shoulders and arms in the right spot in preparation for the downswing. I had no swing thoughts other than making sure my right elbow arm (I'm right handed) is higher than my left during that 1-2 feet of initial backswing. It also prevents the rolling of the hands. This is the lowest score I shot in about 5 years. I also won $$$. Shooting a net 64 will do that for you! Thank you so much and I can't wait to to practice/play. Golf is fun again!

I couldn't stop swaying, very inconsistent ball striking and there were too many swing thoughts to master in such minimal time. I'm very glad to know that this lesson resonated with you, and now that you are armed with this knowledge I hope you are able to use it to the betterment of your game. Yes - if we are building a ball striking machine then we must attack and minimize those variables. Ideally we want to get to the point where we can simply "allow" the hand/wrist/arm actions to happen without forcing anything. In other words, if we have a secure grip, pre-establish the connections properly in the setup, and have a foundational base that facilitates a full centered turn without restriction, then once we've ingrained the correct positions through sequential drilling and repetition we can entrust the motion to the big muscles and allow the arms, wrists, hands, and club to simply go along for the ride and respond accordingly as if on autopilot. The power accumulators - including the proper arm, wrist, and hand action - will then naturally load and fire with no contrived manipulations or precise timing necessary, thereby returning the face to the position pre-established at address. The golfer will come to find that as trust builds in the shoulders will rotate freely and the "machine" will then be optimized. It's called "giving up control to gain control", and it's the formula for consistently blissful ball striking and seemingly effortless power. And while I certainly have other videos that address this topic, a more structured option would be my FREE mini course “The Top 3 Keys You Need to Be a Great Ball Striker”: go.saguto.golf/ Featuring 17 videos and 45 minutes of detailed lesson and drill content, this is a great way to gain a fundamental understanding of this system as well as an introduction to the formal learning method that has countless thousands of men and women from across the globe - including many accomplished, low-handicap, competitive players and spanning all age ranges from junior to super-senior - now enjoying the best golf of their lives: saguto.golf/p/sagutogolfreviews Have fun out there beating those variables into submission! 💪💪 Tom Saguto, PGA

In the last two weeks all that you have taught me from maybe four videos has turned me into a machine that hits crispy nuggets over and over again. Finally. The mysteries are solved and I have seen the light!! That isn’t to say that a 3w off the deck isn’t still annoying for me to hit well though. Any tips on that? And THANK YOU!! 🙏

I'm seeing you, Justus, and I am very glad to know that my instruction is resonating with you; excellent job incorporating it into your swing and putting it into play!! 💪💪 With regard to your 3 wood issues, it is essentially the same swing with every club; just some minor setup differences and naturally occurring shaft plane changes as we graduate up in club length from short irons to woods. To demonstrate, you'll find towards the end of this episode some practice range footage of me hitting a 7 iron, 3 wood (off the deck), and driver: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pWHbpJaDrrNmrJo Oftentimes when golfers are hitting everything well except for the longer clubs it can be attributed to one of the following: 1) They are not setting their weight forward correctly and as a result are tilting their spine towards the target. We should address the ball stacked shoulders over hips over knees with our weight balanced 50/50. We then simply bump our hips one inch towards the target while keeping everything else in place. This presets a little more weight forward while retaining the stacked relationship. 2) Their hips are not continuing their lateral targetward action through impact. This is common with the longer clubs as the wider stance means that the hips have a greater distance to travel, thereby posing an increased risk of premature spinout. If the hips stop moving laterally towards the target on the downswing - and they should move targetward naturally if we allow them to - then their rotation takes over, thereby stalling the necessary forward weight loading (we should be 80/20 forward halfway down, 90/10 at impact, and 95/5 in the finish), changing the low point and rerouting the club into a steeper angle of attack (AoA). This can produce a variety of undesirable results including fat and thin contact, topped shots and popups, straight pulls, and “banana” slices. Of great importance is keeping your upper torso/head in place (in other words, not moving towards the target from a face-on view) during the downswing and through impact. This preserves the swing center and the desired shallow AoA. 3) They are not allowing the length of the club to dictate the backswing path and are getting too steep as a result. The shafts of the fairway woods are considerably longer than the irons and thus requires more of an around the body backswing as established by the shaft plane at address. It may "feel" flat as they take it back along the shaft plane for the first few feet, but as long as they maintain the "weight forward, shoulder down, and hands in" components while allowing the club to work around them, it should put them in the proper position at the top so they can attack the ball from the inside. (A good feel for that lead shoulder is "down and in, under the chin".) Tom, great video as usual. I was a + handicapper about 10 years ago and played on a lot of mini-tours. Had some decent success. Had a decent long game and a great short game. Short game was so good because I had to use it on almost every hole. : ) So that leads to my issue, I was very inconsistent with my irons. I have been watching and following you for a few months now as I have tried to re-commit myself and try to make the Sr Tour next year when I turn 50. I have never had any issue hooking the ball, but since trying to implement what you teach, I am hooking the crap out of everything. But on the positive note, I am very consistent with it. Ha ha ; ) Any ideas on why this would be? I hit every shot extra crispy, ball then divot, the ball starts on line but man does she have a mean hook. From driver to pw. I think once I get this figured out, I'll be back under par again. Thanks in advance.

I'm very glad to know that my instruction content and teaching style are resonating with you, Chad! It is indeed good news that you are consistently experiencing the same issue with every club. However, there are just too many potential variables and unknowns for me to make an accurate diagnosis regarding your hook tendencies without actually seeing your swing. For example, if your path was previously too steep and you were making compensations to prevent the ball from slicing off the planet - perhaps a very strong grip or setting up with a closed face - then those compensations could certainly result in a hook if you have successfully corrected your path. Other things to consider are your ball position is too far forward, your hands are too far back, your weight is not forward enough at impact, more..... Ultimately, the answer lies in ball flight laws. Clubface angle relative to target line at impact is the primary influencer of the ball's starting line and face relative to path determines direction and degree of curvature. From there you can then do some reverse engineering to identify and neutralize the cause of a sideways shot. Now, if you are serious with regard to getting back to a plus-hcp as well as your professional playing aspirations, then we need to get serious with regard to resolving the issue and getting you on the proper path going forward. For starters, I do offer a swing video analysis service which enables me to put my eyes on your swing, diagnose any issues, and provide the applicable corrective action plan. Here is a link where you can learn more about this option: saguto.golf/lessons In addition to that, if you've not already joined have you considered enrolling in the online school and taking your learning - and your game - to the next level? Hey Tom. Just started to golf with my Junior. Your instruction has helped me pick up the gsme pretty quick. I find that I have to square my club face just before impact to get much more distance. I'm assuming that I'm losing the square face on my downswing. I think the right shoulder to the target will be the solution. I'll give it a try. Thanks!
@SagutoGolf
@SagutoGolf Күн бұрын
Welcome to this greatest of games - I'm very glad to know that my instruction content and teaching style are resonating with you!! If you are having to square the club with your hands at impact then yes - something is causing the face to open at some point in the motion. Ideally, I would like for you to get to the point where you can simply "allow" the hand/wrist/arm actions to happen without forcing anything. We are minimizing variables and building a ball striking machine, and the golfer will find that as trust builds in the shoulders will rotate freely and the "machine" will then be optimized. It's called "giving up control to gain control", and it's the formula for consistently blissful ball striking and seemingly effortless power. And while I certainly have other videos that address this topic, a more structured option would be my FREE mini course “The Top 3 Keys You Need to Be a Great Ball Striker”: go.saguto.golf/ Featuring 17 videos and 45 minutes of detailed lesson and drill content, this is a great way to gain a fundamental understanding of this system as well as an introduction to the formal learning method that has countless thousands of men and women from across the globe - including many accomplished, low-handicap, competitive players and spanning all age ranges from junior to super-senior - now enjoying the best golf of their lives: saguto.golf/p/sagutogolfreviews Thanks for your message, keep up the great work, and have fun out there with your Junior! I'm very glad to know that this lesson resonated with you, Michael, and now that you are armed with this knowledge I hope you are able to use it to the betterment of your game! Your shanks can be the result of a variety of actions: 1) You may be too steep on the downswing and thereby exposing the hosel to the ball; 2) Conversely, your downswing path may be too in to out; 3) You may be rolling the face open or snatching the club inside with the hands in the takeaway; 4) Your wrists may not be hinging properly (which is often the case when a golfer tries to manufacture or force the hinge rather than just allowing it to happen); 5) You are setting up with the ball positioned at the heel of the club; 6) You are losing your pre-established relationship with the ball (i.e.: a deficiency in the Tilt component); 7) You are not completing your shoulder turn in the backswing; 8) More... What I'm getting at is that there are a number of potential causes, and without actually seeing your swing it's impossible for me to identify the culprit behind those hosel rockets. Anyway, let's have you work through the mini course first to see if that helps you to resolve your issue. Feel free to circle back after that if those shanks are still pestering you. Enjoy the free course! Tom Saguto, PGA

I'm very glad to know that this lesson resonated with you, and now that you are armed with this knowledge I hope you are able to use it to the betterment of your game. As for your body being able to do this......well, you may be interested to know that a significant percentage of my online school members are in their 60's, 70's, and 80's - i.e.: a smorgasbord of chronic ailments, physical limitations, back/shoulder/knee/hip pain, arthritis, and joint replacements - and they are overwhelmingly elated to experience the dramatic pain-free game improvement, seemingly effortless power, and resulting enjoyment that this swing affords them. It all begins with a proper setup which provides for a free-flowing motion. Upon that good foundation a repeatable swing which produces consistently crispy impact can be built. For example, the outward flaring of both feet 10-20 degrees in our setup facilitates the proper amount of body-friendly, free-flowing hip turn back and through. This is a major power source, and it also keeps the club traveling on the correct path. If you were to square your feet so that they were perpendicular to the target line, then your hips would be impeded from turning sufficiently in the backswing (which would then inhibit the shoulders from executing a full and effortless turn), and from releasing properly in the downswing to propel the club through the zone. Restricting this action can cause a variety of path issues and/or also place strain on the lower back, lead knee, and the hip joints as the hips will "want" to move laterally and turn through into the finish but will be fighting the body in the process. Have you looked into the comprehensive, sequential learning platform of the online school yet? That's where - among many other courses and lessons covering various aspects of the game - you will find very detailed instruction and drills that take you through the entire swing step-by-step, position-by-position from setup to finish. You don't need the flexibility of a Romanian gymnast - or even of this far less pliable golf instructor - to execute this swing, experience great ball striking, and reclaim - or even exceed - yardages from years past. Biggest change in consistency for me was starting to think about my right elbow in the swing... I always used to focus on the left arm and just let the right arm do whatever. Once u get to a certain point, the left arm basically feels second nature in terms of keeping it straight, take-away, rotating thru the ball etc. Now pretty much the only thing i think about is what the right arm is doing. By keeping my elbow close to the body and concentrating on not letting the right arm bend past 90° i end up in the same position automatically EVERY time. Because i was already a decent player but inconsistent, this has completely changed everything. Before i had to rely so much on my feel and timing. I cld still do well on my good shots. Now i can be a robot.

100% this. I've been focusing on left arm and other things. @SagutoGolf
@SagutoGolf 2 күн бұрын
I sincerely appreciate your kind words, and I'm very glad to know that my instruction content is performing well with your irons. Nice job!! Here is a recent video I did in which I demonstrated the driver swing while really emphasizing the weight -forward component: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hpuydKuCjKZ-jZY It is essentially the same swing with every club; just some minor setup differences and naturally occurring shaft plane changes as we graduate up in club length from short irons to woods. Oftentimes when golfers are hitting everything well except for the driver it can be attributed to one of the following: 1) They are not setting their weight forward correctly and as a result are tilting their spine towards the target. The shaft of the driver is considerably longer than the other clubs and thus requires more of an around the body backswing as established by the shaft plane at address. It may "feel" flat as they take it back along the shaft plane for the first few feet, but as long as they maintain the "weight forward, shoulder down, and hands in" components while allowing the club to work around them, it should put them in the proper position at the top so they can attack the ball from the inside. (A good feel for that lead shoulder is "down and in, under the chin".) 4) Many believe - and some even teach - that we must try to "hit up on the ball" with the driver. However, consider that in our stock setup with the driver the hands are even with the inside of the lead thigh (as they are with all clubs when playing a standard shot) and our ball position is even with the inside of the heel of the lead foot. This presets a very slight degree of forward shaft lean with the driver. Beyond that, the ball is behind the zero-point of the swing (which is even with the lead shoulder), meaning that without any contrived manipulations the club will still be on its descent - albeit very close to flat - at impact. So, perhaps with the exception of folks with slower swing speeds - or those Long Drive participants teeing it extra high and hitting maybe 1-2 balls out of 10 onto a 60-yard wide "fairway" - in general the path is still ever so slightly down. In fact, the PGA Tour average with the driver is actually minus (e.g.: downward) 1.5 degrees - nearly level - and it should feel level - but slightly down nonetheless. (Here is an article on Ping’s website addressing this topic - ping.com/en-us/blogs/proving-grounds/optimal-launch-and-spin#:~:text=According%20to%20Trackman%2C%20PGA%20Tour,85%25%20ball%2Dflight%20laws ) While there are certainly videos on my channel that address this topic, a better option would be my FREE mini course “The Top 3 Keys You Need to Be a Great Ball Striker”: go.saguto.golf/ Featuring 17 videos and 45 minutes of detailed lesson and drill content, this is a great way to gain a fundamental understanding of the swing keys that will ultimately get you mashing the ball through your entire bag, as well as an introduction to the formal learning method that has countless thousands of men and women from across the globe - including many accomplished, low-handicap, competitive players and spanning all age ranges from junior to super-senior - now enjoying the best golf of their lives: saguto.golf/p/sagutogolfreviews Thanks for your message and keep up the great work!! I'm very glad to learn of your improved ball striking - nice job!! Although there are just too many potential variables and unknowns for me to make an accurate diagnosis regarding your hook tendencies without actually seeing your swing, I can offer some possibilities. While there are certainly videos on my channel that address the various causes of hooks, a more structured option would be my FREE mini course “The Top 3 Keys You Need to Be a Great Ball Striker”: go.saguto.golf/ Featuring 17 videos and 45 minutes of detailed lesson and drill content, this is a great way to gain a fundamental understanding of this system as well as an introduction to the formal learning method that has countless thousands of men and women from across the globe - including many accomplished, low-handicap, competitive players and spanning all age ranges from junior to super-senior - now enjoying the best golf of their lives: saguto.golf/p/sagutogolfreviews Let's get that ball flight straightened out so you can really start enjoying the best golf of your life! Trying to time some kind of handsy "release" at the split second of impact doesn't really do anything except cause inconsistency and a loss of stored up power. Yet unfortunately, such sorcery from this dark underworld of golf instruction rarely finds its way to the mainstream because if too many folks found out about it the mainstream would then be rendered irrelevant....... 😎 Consider that despite all the advances in equipment, technology, golf course grooming, etc. the average golfer still struggles to break 100. Epic failures within the realm of modern “conventional” instruction, perhaps??? So many misconstrued and/or misguided teachings - such as taking the club straight back, turning the shoulders level while independently lifting the arms, shifting into and torquing against a firm trail side, firing the hips, actively rolling the hands through impact, etc. - have relegated generations of golfers to the vast abyss of inconsistency and chronic frustration (and chronic back/knee/hip pain as well). I’m doing my best here to clear these up one by one and put an end to this madness, and I'm very glad to know that it is resonating with you!. Thanks for your message and ongoing support! Tom

Love your system. The only addition I would make is to think about 'posting up' on your back leg in the takeaway. Combined with the 'point the front shoulder at the ball' thought, I find it easy to get in the right position at the top.
@SagutoGolf
@SagutoGolf 2 күн бұрын
I appreciate that, Bob, and I'm very glad to know that my instruction content and teaching style are resonating with you! If by "posting up" you are referring to allowing the trail leg to straighten in response to the motion and the gradually increasing forward weight load, then I am absolutely onboard with that. If, on the other hand, it refers to a weight shift into the trail side, then we are deviating from the very centered nature of this swing. Now, to be clear there is certainly an allowance for a transfer of “pressure” into the trail side. After all, we are moving the mass of the arms and club back and around us during the takeaway and backswing. Some like to sense the dynamic pressure shifts; others prefer the feel of weight building into the lead leg from the start. However, in either scenario the key here is that we do not allow our mass - and thus our swing center and low point - to drift back at any point. And the result is a centered, low-maintenance, body-friendly, consistent, and tremendously powerful motion. While there are certainly plenty of other videos on my channel that address this topic, a more structured option would be my FREE mini course “The Top 3 Keys You Need to Be a Great Ball Striker”: go.saguto.golf/ Featuring 17 videos and 45 minutes of detailed lesson and drill content, this is a great way to gain a fundamental understanding of this system as well as an introduction to the formal learning method that has countless thousands of men and women from across the globe - including many accomplished, low-handicap, competitive players and spanning all age ranges from junior to super-senior - now enjoying the best golf of their lives: saguto.golf/p/sagutogolfreviews Thanks for your message and keep up the great work!! @SagutoGolf
@SagutoGolf Күн бұрын
Hi Philip, With regard to this erroneous notion that we need to affect some type of active hand-rolling “release", given the inability of most folks to spend sufficient time at the range to lock in the required exactness of such an action this misguided thought has led countless golfers astray. It's not something that even the vast majority of pros are trying to consciously manufacture during the split second that the clubhead is traveling a distance of approximately 6' from parallel to parallel at speeds in excess of 100 mph. The forearms will naturally "trade places" from pre- to post-impact, but this should not be construed as a contrived move (although many a casual observer has gone down that rabbit hole). There really ought not be any active manipulation of the hands through the zone and attempts to precisely time any such rolling or flipping - which does nothing for swing speed - have relegated many an amateur to the vast abyss of inconsistency and frustration. Ideally, we should simply "allow" the hand/wrist/arm actions to happen without forcing anything. @SagutoGolf
@SagutoGolf 15 сағат бұрын
Uphill, downhill, and sidehill lies are on my to-do list for online school lesson content, Joshua. Having said that, the keys to playing a shot when the ball is below your feet are in 1) adjusting your setup to properly orient yourself to the ball (since it will be closer to you, your upper body will be angled more towards the ground than on a standard shot), 2) balancing yourself as you may need to feel your weight more towards the heels of your feet depending on the severity of the slope, 3) taking an extra club or two than you normally would from the given distance, and 4) aligning yourself with the expectation that the ball will fade. Once you are oriented, balanced, and properly aligned, you are ready to execute the swing as taught. Bump your hips forward an inch as you typically would so your weight favors the front side 55-60%, and when you take it back make sure that your weight stays forward and your shoulders do not flatten out as they turn, as they will have a tendency to do so due to their preset steeper orientation. In fact, a good thought for this shot is to keep the chest pointing down as you turn, since mishits from this type of lie are oftentimes a result of the golfer coming out of his or her tilt in the backswing. Conversely, a ball above your feet will necessitate having your upper body oriented for a less steep shoulder turn that allows the club to work more around the body, weight perhaps favoring the balls of the feet depending on slope severity, and allowing for a drawing ball flight. You'll likely need to choke down on the club a bit, and for this reason plus the curvature you may also want to club up for this shot, bearing in mind that the ball may tend to roll out more upon landing due to the draw spin. Once again, after making these adjustments you'll want to execute the swing motions as taught - weight forward, tilt/turn/extend, hands in, keeping your swing center intact. The short answer with regard to uphill and downhill lies is to 1) Match your shoulders to the angle of the slope, 2) Widen your stance a bit for stability, 3) Understand that an uphill slope is going to add loft whereas a downhill slope will reduce loft and produce more runout, so adjust your club selection accordingly, 4) Make a practice swing next to the ball to determine your swing's low point on that particular slope, and then address the ball so that the low point is just ahead of it, 5) Anticipate the potential for more draw spin on uphill lies and fade spin on downhill lies depending on the severity of the slope, and align accordingly, and 6) Do your best to keep your center intact as you swing since any swaying will shift your low point and cause inconsistent results. Keep it crispy out there! If you are experiencing lower back pain beyond just some initial soreness of engaging muscles groups that were not previously being used in your swing, then there is likely an issue in your execution of the setup and/or swing motion. I say this with high confidence because the swing system I teach is a proven body-friendly method. I can vouch for that through my own personal experience as a golfer who previously experienced back pain, and It is further validated by the fact that a significant percentage of my students and online school members are in their 60's, 70's, and 80's - i.e.: a smorgasbord of chronic ailments, physical limitations, back/shoulder/knee/hip pain, arthritis, and joint replacements - and they are overwhelmingly elated to experience the dramatic pain-free game improvement, seemingly effortless power, and resulting enjoyment that this swing affords them. *_It all begins with a proper setup which provides for a free-flowing motion._* Upon that good foundation a repeatable swing which produces consistently crispy impact can be built. Hi Jerry, While this system affords you some leeway, in general once my students and members show some level of proficiency with the swing I suggest that they migrate to a stock ball position that is in the middle of the stance for short irons, two balls inside the lead heel for middle irons, and creeping more forward for the longer clubs - the farthest forward being even with the inside of the lead heel for the driver (with the stance width increasing as we move from shorter to longer clubs). From there they can make incremental tweaks to see how different positions affect impact quality and shot shape. As for hand position, it remains consistent - even with the inside of your lead thigh - no matter which club you are hitting. Additionally, the lead arm and club shaft should form a straight line from the face-on view, giving your setup a lowercase "y" look. Hi Josh, I'm very glad to know that my instruction content is resonating with you! The lead arm is the radius of our swing circle, and as such if we desire ball striking consistency we should endeavor to preserve our radius from address to post-impact. Our lead arm should hang down relatively straight without any "forcing" at address. From there, as long as we have a proper setup which is supportive of an unrestricted motion we ought to be able to maintain the same level of straightness that we started with. This is not difficult to accomplish _as long as we don't try to take it back beyond our body’s natural stopping point._ It all begins with a good setup that facilitates an effortless 45 degrees of hip turn. From there all we need is another 45 degrees of shoulder turn to get to the full 90. If any of those turns are restricted by an improper setup, then the lead arm will fight the stymied torso and have a good chance of breaking down. And while I certainly have several videos that address this topic, a more structured option would be my FREE mini course “The Top 3 Keys You Need to Be a Great Ball Striker”: go.saguto.golf/ Featuring 17 videos and 45 minutes of detailed lesson and drill content, this is a great way to gain a fundamental understanding of this system as well as an introduction to the formal learning method that has countless thousands of men and women *of all shapes and sizes* from across the globe - including many accomplished, low-handicap, competitive players - now enjoying the best golf of their lives: saguto.golf/p/sagutogolfreviews Tom Saguto, PGA

From the front, it looks like you break your wrists in the backswing and let the club travel further behind you, but listening to what you're saying, I wonder if that's not actually true. Do you add extension in the backswing or do your wrist angles stay the same through the whole swing? I know what we see from different angles can often mislead and I wonder if the issue I still have with face angle at impact might be because I let the momentum of the club carry it back behind me instead of maintaining that same angle from setup.

This all applies to the driver. In fact, it is essentially the same swing with every club; just some minor setup differences and naturally occurring shaft plane changes as we graduate up in club length from short irons to woods. To demonstrate, you'll find towards the end of this episode some practice range footage of me hitting a 7 iron, 3 wood, and driver: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pWHbpJaDrrNmrJo. HI Ken, Have you viewed this recent episode in which I really emphasized the weight-forward component with the driver?: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hpuydKuCjKZ-jZY As I have been sharing with many folks, it is essentially the same swing with every club; just some minor setup differences and naturally occurring shaft plane changes as we graduate up in club length from short irons to woods. To demonstrate, you'll find towards the end of this episode some practice range footage of me hitting a 7 iron, 3 wood, and driver: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pWHbpJaDrrNmrJo Oftentimes when golfers are hitting everything well except for the driver it can be attributed to one of the following: 1) They are not setting their weight forward correctly and as a result are tilting their spine towards the target. (Here is an article on Ping’s website addressing this topic - ping.com/en-us/blogs/proving-grounds/optimal-launch-and-spin#:~:text=According%20to%20Trackman%2C%20PGA%20Tour,85%25%20ball%2Dflight%20laws ) While there are certainly videos on my channel that address this topic, a better option would be my FREE mini course “The Top 3 Keys You Need to Be a Great Ball Striker”: go.saguto.golf/ Featuring 17 videos and 45 minutes of detailed lesson and drill content, this is a great way to gain a fundamental understanding of the swing keys that will ultimately get you mashing the ball through your entire bag, as well as an introduction to the formal learning method that has countless thousands of men and women from across the globe - including many accomplished, low-handicap, competitive players and spanning all age ranges from junior to super-senior - now enjoying the best golf of their lives: saguto.golf/p/sagutogolfreviews Keep up the great work with the irons, and now let's get that driver dialed in! It looks to me that the clubface is slightly open in the setup, isnt it? I had the problem that I hit it left on the range today. looking for faults in my swing.

The face is open a degree or two to the target line at address. Consider that the zero-point of the swing is even with the lead shoulder/armpit from a face-on view. The face would be square to the target there, but since the ball position is behind that spot, without any contrived manipulations this causes the face to be ever so slightly open to the target line. This relationship - face open to the target and closed to the in-to-out downswing path - is how we achieve the stock push-draw ball flight of this swing system. And while I certainly have content that addresses various causes of your issue, a more structured option would be my FREE mini course “The Top 3 Keys You Need to Be a Great Ball Striker”: go.saguto.golf/ Featuring 17 videos and 45 minutes of detailed lessons and drills, this is a great way to gain a fundamental understanding of this system as well as an introduction to the formal learning method that has countless thousands of men and women from across the globe - including many accomplished, low-handicap, competitive players and spanning all age ranges from junior to super-senior - now enjoying the best golf of their lives: saguto.golf/p/sagutogolfreviews Tom Saguto, PGA

There is no conflict. It is simply that I do my best to convey multiple “feels” or thoughts throughout the swing wherever possible. We're all different physiologically and psychologically, and something that resonates effectively with one golfer may not necessarily work for another. As such, it is important to understand that the lessons on this channel - while fully aligned with the swing method I teach - address a variety of topics, issues, feels, and/or common flaws/fixes from one episode to the next. They are certainly not intended to be taken as a comprehensive, step-by-step, position-by-position learning platform like the structured curriculum of my online school, which I strongly recommend to anyone who truly wishes to get on the proper path towards owning this swing as it will make for a far more efficient and enjoyable learning process rather than haphazardly trying to piece things together through my KZbin content. The lessons and drills provide the guidelines and set the boundaries, while allowing ample leeway for each individual golfer to infuse and exercise their own uniqueness. Thousands of men and women from across the globe - including many accomplished, low-handicap, competitive players and spanning all age ranges from junior to super-senior - are now enjoying the best golf of their lives as a result of the school, and their unsolicited testimonials tell the story quite well: saguto.golf/p/sagutogolfreviews. Would you like to learn some key aspects of the body-friendly, powerful, low-maintenance swing system I teach in a more structured manner? If so, then here is a link to my newly updated FREE mini course “The Top 3 Keys You Need to Be a Great Ball Striker”: go.saguto.golf/ Featuring 17 videos and 45 minutes of detailed lesson and drill content, this is a great way to gain a fundamental understanding of this system as well as an introduction to the formal instruction method that is delivering the referenced results. @SagutoGolf
@SagutoGolf 2 күн бұрын
Of course I do, Barnaby, although ideally we should simply "allow" the hand/wrist/arm actions to happen without forcing anything. We are minimizing variables and building a ball striking machine, and the golfer will find that as trust builds in the shoulders will rotate freely and the "machine" will then be optimized. It's called "giving up control to gain control", and it's the formula for consistently blissful ball striking and seemingly effortless power.
