The best part of this video (to me, anyway) is the smile on Eddie's face...he absolutely LOVED playin' geetar....and a tad bit of organ.

That was the 80s for ya. The decade of excess. And VH were the kings.

The reason for more views is it was on MTV. It was played on pop radio. The Album 1984 my freshman year. Was radio friendly. They played hard rock before. Eddie wanted to expand. Dave wanted to stay like the early days. Eddie and his brother Alex the drummer never really cared for Dave. However they couldn't deny the dynamic that Dave Brought. 1984 Dave was kicked from the band. 1984 last Album with David Lee Roth. Then Sammy Hagar came the red rocker. People called them Van Haggar as insult. At the time original fans thought it was the worst move.

David Lee Roth. The real Van Halen. There is a reason why VH have sold 34 million albums with Roth as compared to 18 million with hagar. There is a reason why the reunion with Roth in 07' dwarfed the reunion in 04' with hagar in terms of tickets sold, revenue grossed. It's because Van Halen's legacy as a band will always lie with David Lee Roth.

Our beloved Eddie Van Galen , on guitar he designed by himself , the drummer & Eddie on guitar are brothers , Rock In Paradise Eddie Van Halen

Fun Fact. The video only cost them 5k to make. They shot it with 1 camera and did the editing themselves. Also the scream aaaooooo Dave does at the end is not on the original song, only on the video.

LOVE this video. Yes, this is Diamond Dave at his best. All fun and games, for sure, but the guy was in SERIOUS physical shape; those moves are hard to do! Would the real DLR please stand up?

Yea it looks a little cheesy now but Van Halen was the biggest band in the world after this dropped in 1984. Try 'Hot for Teacher' next. Probably their best video.

This video and song by VH shows how confused the 80's were in every way. Not my favorite efforts by the boys but they sure knew how to make radio hits. I prefer "Fair Warning" VH and Eddie getting facinated by the keyboard might have been the single most tragic thing in Rock history not involving drugs!
